Questions & Answers

In what ways are these 80071& 80078 by Permatex different from one another?

I am able to take 80078- A high level of The temperature must not exceed 1600 Fahrenheit

Are these suitable for use on the pins of brake calipers?

My guess is that it will go to the bleeder. Let's look at the threads a little more closely. There will be no way for it to stay within anything near motion or heat, so I know it will spread everywhere. Using an anti -bacterial agent on the pins is probably not a good idea Be sure to seize. During play, the pads rest on the pins. Their bearings don't seem to require any kind of lubrication. There is no movement from them. This is what the pads do. We wish you the best of luck!

What is the recommended way of connecting the coil) to the tip where it sits over the spark plug? Is the "dielectric grease" sufficient?

You can put electric grease on the coil or on the This is anti- The type of antiseize that can be used on the spark plug threads depends on the engine. Consult your owner's manual for specific instructions on how to apply it.

Up until now, I have always made driving my vehicle a challenge
5/5

As I was replacing everything in my '90 Chevy K2500 pickup, from the engine to brakes, I decided that I should make sure the next time I needed to do something, it wouldn't require a breaker bar and Now, I use this on pretty much anything that may need an out of the way part removed later on. After having done so, I would say that the price and time it takes it to apply make it more economical than trying to remove a bolt stem after the head has been twisted used it to remove brake rotors, exhaust flanges, exhaust studs, and pipe hangers, and more recently, on strut assemblies and a number of bolts when I rebuilt the brakes on my snow thrower, chipper, and trailer. Putting it on my finger and rubbing it on something is much more pleasant to me than using the applicator. In addition, I use it on any engine part I replace on my vehicles that has a bolt into the engine. . . like thermostat housings, O2 sensors, oil filter housings, and so forth. It may still be possible to remove a lot of things without this stuff, but after shearing off a few bolts trying to replace my crossover pipe on the truck, I am taking the easiest path since I do not intend to ever buy another new.

Is just what it says it is It's a great way to keep those pesky high-risk bolts from seized As a result of having sealed some difficult suspension bolts years ago (rusted due to dirt, seized due to rust), I decided to use this on all high-risk bolts going forward
5/5

As far as we can tell, it does what it should Several months ago, I took off some suspension bolts on my '96 pickup that I had put anti-roll bars on It was seized on a few years back, and it came off with ease without the need for an The following is to be noted This is not something you want to use on everything, The use of an Anti-Seize device may not prove beneficial to bolts that have been lightly torqued and are not prone to seizing Be sure to seize it. If you do this, you may create a situation in which the bolt loosens on its own. Be careful what you do with this resource. Moreover, I will probably be able to use this 4 oz container for the rest of my life and some more. I recommend this size for the DIYer as it is the "overkill" size!

THANK YOU FOR LOOKING.

Price is WAY too high A bottle of 8oz costs less and is twice the size here on Amazon
3/5

You need to be cautious! You need to read the capacity (4 oz)! We are not discussing some kind of aluminum anti-theft device The typical grey, multipurpose stuff here is seize. There is a discount on Amazon for buying twice as much (8oz) for the same price. A Permatex antimicrobial is only available in three types Obtain [Common (grey bottle), Copper (white bottle), and Nickel Please don't fall victim to this scam. That's what I was doing.

It's a great price that is more than enough for you
5/5

The threads on my spark plugs and bolts that get hot are protected with this stuff. Heat and cooling cause threads to seize and become incapable of being detached, leaving the thread inaccessible. A thread antiseize prevents this from happening. These are the tools you need to change the spark plugs. Like other posters have mentioned, PepBoy/etc. sell tubes of this stuff for 5 bucks for a little. The tube is 5 oz. There's no way I'm going to pay $5 for a tiny tube of the same thing when this bottle costs $5. Although I purchased it with the knowledge that I would need more than I would need to do my spark plugs, I also knew that I would likely need it again for some other purpose, You want to keep it in case you need it for something else in the future. One thing I really like about this over tubes purchased from the parts store is that it comes with a brush that makes the application really easy without getting any on The product works exactly the way it is advertised on its label. By preventing threads from seizing, it prevents threads from breaking. The next time you need to change plugs, you'll be glad you bought this when you do it again after several thousand miles.

My favorite version of this product is the tube that is based on microfibers, and I have used it many times
5/5

It has a decent price as well. Using antiseptics is one of the best things I've ever done Spark plugs, for example, that you know you will remove again, tend to seize much more easily than you might think. However, removing is not the only concern. Using it to install used bolts and nuts that may be worn or rusted is one of my favorite uses. The hand start feature makes it much easier to start them by hand so you can avoid spending time with the wrench in tight spots. A brush makes it easier to apply the product if it comes in a container with a brush. Additionally, you get a lot more for your money and it will be less likely to harden when stuck in a storage unit. There is no reason to hesitate with Permatex, and I strongly recommend it.

It is an absolute necessity for aluminum engines
5/5

This is excellent. There are many people who do not realize that steel fasteners must be installed into aluminum blocks in exactly the same way as any other fastener. This prevents aluminum heads from sizing up with spark plugs. The zinc does not interfere with the performance of the product, and I use it on any fasteners that come in contact with aluminum, such as the alternator bolt I used after it galled. For thread repair, I had to get a thread repair kit from time-sert, which costs You can also use this to clean fasteners that may have gone corroded.

There's nothing better than Permatex! It's still a brand you can rely on
5/5

A top quality anti-corrosion product is essential for the 1/5 scale live steam locomotive I am using. With saturated steam at 120 psi and temperatures over 320 degrees F, Permatex provides excellent protection. The seizure product has no doubt become one of the most critical tools for attempting future disassembling projects.

That is the proper way to do it
5/5

This is anti- As should be the case, seize works as intended. Despite the high price, it is a good deal. Usually I put this on exhuast studs, brake rotor mounting surfaces, oxygen sensors, friction surfaces of brakes, caliper slide pins, anything that is likely to rust and freeze.
