Most boats use fresh water from lakes, even if they have a radiator.
In a 32 oz system, I used two of them. It was a success.

Even though the antifreeze I drained appeared to be bright green and spotless, I figured it couldn't hurt. I used the bottle of Blue Devil and water from the garden hose to fill the system. I drove the car for about 150 miles after leaving it in the system for about a week (in the summer, when there was no chance of temperatures falling below freezing). I drained the radiator and was astounded to discover that the water that came out was dark brown, and that the overflow tank was full of brown sludge! During that week, I also turned on the heater on high to ensure that the coolant was flowing through the heater core. I wasn't sure if the heater was working at first. It was blowing fire by the end of the week! I drained and refilled with straight 100% water 3 more times and each time, the water drained was dirty until the 4th time when the overflow tank didn not% I then refilled with a 50/50 mix of Prestone antifreeze and the GM tablets they recommended. Knowing that all of the corrosion and sludge was removed from the cooling system gives me a lot more peace of mind, and it will probably save me money in the long run by preventing overheating and costly repairs! My motor's coolant passages were really cleaned out and opened up thanks to Blue Devil! I'm going to use it on all of my vehicles from now on!.
It works if you use it the way it's supposed to be used. Your heater core, on the other hand, will eventually be plugged. You might get lucky, like I did, and be able to clear the core by counterflowing it, but don't count on it. By the way, no sealant product will work unless the heater core is plugged, but if you're reading this, you either don't care or don't have time to work on a cheap pile.
I'm guessing it cleaned out a lot of gunk because it turned out black! If it wasn't labeled as "flush," it would be difficult to tell the difference between it and antifreeze. (Hopefully, it isn't just colored water. ) ) Haha jk.
eDevil is back with another product. This could be a good product, but I had problems with the Blue Devil head gasket sealer and will never buy another Blue Devil product again.
Manufacturer's instructions were followed to the letter. My truck's problem had been resolved. For several months, everything has been fine.

There was some filth in there, but it happily cleaned it up.
