You don't have to do it. In comparison to a differential or trans fill, this compound is grease based and contains only a trace amount. You should probably wipe it off, but don't put too much effort into completely removing it.

I used it to set up the rear end of my Also, I bought a tube of Prussian Blue, which turned out to be a complete There just is not enough transparency in the blue stuff to clearly show the marks on the rings. This product worked perfectly because of its bright dark yellow color.
Why does it cost so much? This is a great product that works effectively, but why do prices have to be so high?.
Prussian Blue does not compare! There is an Auto Zone, O'Riley's, a Stealership, and more There are no auto parts stores in my town that carry it (Napa). However, they told me it would cost $40 for them to order it. There was only blue crap to be found. You should read this to get a more precise reading if you're installing a diff, &c Making sure the pattern is correct. Extras are good to have, so get extras Be sure to triple-check your work. Don't make the same noise as I did when I was drinking my wine. Using the yellow grease is the right way to do it!.
Considering how little comes out of the compound to test gear engagement patterns, only four stars is deserved because the compound is so expensive.
As a result of shipping damage, the paint was leaking. It is still good, however, for marking the mesh of a ring and pinion gear.
The tube of material was a reasonable price and it was of an adequate size.
I am very happy with how it works.
