Questions & Answers

Is this suitable for first-aid purposes?

I've used it a few times after a minor nick or scratch (from cats) that results in a small amount of blood loss. It is almost 99%) PURE isopropyl alcohol that kills germs. Think of it as a very pure form of the kind sold at stores which are generally lower (70%) as they are watered down as they are watered down. I was using Zep Dynamo (circuit board cleaner, contains similar ingredients, but uses a different propellant) as my general cleaner prior to getting this. br>I really like this stuff. It's very versatile; use it like any other germ-killing cleaner, but with the added benefit of evaporating quickly! I've used it to (generously) spray remotes, controllers, and clean surfaces. If my remote becomes dirty or sticky, I simply spray it until it begins to drip (as if hosing it off), wipe any areas that are particularly dirty, and shake it off; no need to remove any batteries or allow it to dry. It also works well on my TV screen; simply spray it liberally onto a paper towel and wipe it clean without leaving any streaks. br>Do you have sticky or greasy hands? You'll feel much cleaner after using this to "hose" them off. It's NSF-certified sanitary, which means it's non-toxic and extremely clean (alcohol kills germs). br>In terms of first aid, I'd just be cautious because the spray is quite strong. You could apply it with a napkin or a paper towel. Small cuts or scrapes, on the other hand, will be fine; just a heads up. Because it isn't watered down, alcohol STINGS, and this will sting significantly more than household alcohol (the 70% stuff). The sting, on the other hand, is short-lived. This can has been in my possession for quite some time, and there is still plenty left. You get a lot of bang for your buck.

Is it possible to use this to clean surgical instruments?

It's 99. 9% pure, but I don t know what the remaining contaminants are made of. Because it is an industry-standard, I would not use it on articles intended for human consumption. This is a consumer-oriented item, not a medically approved or reagent item. These are my personal opinions.

What type of aerosol propellant is used in this? Is it combined with the IPA in the can?

Propeller appears to be "1,1-" based on can labeling. "Difluoroethane" (?) is a term used to describe a substance that contains two fluor 152a), and it appears to have been "mixed" with the IPA in the same chamber. Neither the labeling nor the packaging indicate that IPA is anhydrous. Because contents (propellants and purities) can change from what my cans indicate, I recommend contacting the manufacturer for specifics to your question, especially if you're considering using it for a critical application. The price is excellent, and the product performs admirably
5/5

This was purchased in order to remove the thermal compound from my CPU and heatsink. I looked for 99% alcohol but stores didn t have any, and the cheapest I could find on the internet was like $8- For a small bottle, I'd give it a 9. Then I saw this, and I'd used CRC products before, including their electrical contact cleaner, so I knew it was good. It has 99% alcohol and I like having in an aerosol can as opposed to a bottle because it gives me a bit more control over the amount I use than a bottle br>At only $7 with Prime, it's an incredible value. It got rid of the compound without a hitch, and I still have plenty left over for other projects. br>br>I was also ecstatic to discover it had been delivered THE NEXT DAY! I placed my order on Tuesday, and it arrived at my doorstep on Wednesday! And I didn't pay extra for next-day delivery; instead, I chose Prime's standard 2nd-day delivery option.

For anyone looking for 99% isopropyl alcohol to clean a CPU or heatsink or any thing else and do not want to pay $8 for a small bot.

There is no better way to clean a painting or photograph that is protected by glass
5/5

A picture frame store owner first introduced me to this product. An isopropyl alcohol cleaner is the best way to clean a picture or painting behind glass. There are no smears and it dries quickly. It's also something I use on my frames. It was a great addition to my cleaning supplies, and my windows now sparkle at all hours of the day and night. It can also be used to clean the bathroom and the kitchen. It has a lot of unexpected benefits, and I find myself using it a lot more than I expected. This is an extremely adaptable investment.

It performs admirably, and I don't have to be concerned about petroleum
5/5

I primarily use this as a solvent for cleaning firearms. It works perfectly, and I don't have to worry about petroleum fumes bothering my wife or pets. Because my garage is kept at 100 degrees for most of the year, I have to clean firearms inside. So, without leaving a cloud of petroleum-based residue, this product cleans all of the soot, lead, and copper from my firearms. fumes from solvent-based solvents.

I've used it three times and it's always worked well with my copier's feed system
5/5

Something similar is used by my copy machine repairman every time. So I decided to go out and look for some on my own. I've used it three times and it's always worked well with my copier's feed system. When it pulls through after multiple uses, the stacked paper jams. With a couple of sprays, the issue is gone. Alcohol and a cotton swab are far superior and more direct to the location.

For the majority of automotive jobs, a safer alternative to brake cleaner
5/5

For the majority of automotive jobs, a safer alternative to brake cleaner. When compared to brake/carb cleaner, IPA is far, far safer to be exposed to. Yes, you'll still need brake and carb cleaner if you have a lot of grease or carbon deposits. IPA, on the other hand, is all you need for light residues or a final wipedown before applying RTV/gasket maker.

In a spray can, squirt isopropyl alcohol. I've used standard pump sprayers before, but this one is much more convenient. You'll be surprised at how many different applications you'll find for it.
