This dissolves the metal and keeps it from corroding. It strengthens the link. Dielectric grease only serves to protect; it has no anti-corrosion properties. I also use it on truck and trailer light connections that would corrode if only dielectric grease was used.
Good question. I used it primarily as a protective layer and was very pleased with the results. I'm guessing it contains a substance that consumes acid and/or oxidation. as a result of which it could be regarded as a cleaner
Yes, I believe it would be quite effective.
There's no reason why it couldn't be used on marine batteries, as far as I can tell. Both the auto and marine industries perform the same functions. This product seemed to improve the contact between the post and the clamp in my opinion. I then spread it across the tops of each post and clamp it in place. For a battery that is constantly exposed to water, I believe it would be an even better deal. IMHO

After barely using my car for a year and discovering it dead when I went to use it, I decided to get a new one. I noticed that the negative post and connection had a lot of oxidation on them, and I wondered if they had been exposed to the elements while running. Through all of that, the alternator is having difficulty recharging. I decided to do it myself because I don't have anyone I can take the car to for such things. When the battery was installed two years ago, it was entirely my fault. I stood there watching him clean up the positive post, and before I could say anything, he was tightening up the negative post. He didn't have time to clean it, and I'm sure he didn't have time to do so. However, I reasoned that this might work out. Nope! In any case, I placed an order for a stainless steel post and clamp cleaner. I started reading about this Caig Antioxidant at the last minute, and based on the number of positive reviews, I decided to give it a try. It wasn't nearly as difficult as I had anticipated, and I haven't had a single issue since then. CAIG Deox was applied to both posts, as well as the inside and outside of each clamp. Thank you, Caig!.
In the last two years, I've replaced three sets of cables on my EZ Go golf cart. Every other cable had corroded to the point of breaking on the lug. Cables would get so hot that they would bulge if lugs didn't corrode away. When it came time to replace cables, I read positive reviews about DeoxIT and decided to give it a shot. So far, I haven't experienced any corrosion or bulging. I thoroughly coated the lugs and posts with this paste, and my batteries appear to be charging more efficiently as a result. Perhaps a tad excessive - However, I wanted to make certain. I've gone through several cans of spray cleaner in the past, and my batteries have never looked or behaved as well as they do now, so I'll be repurchasing this paste. As a preventative measure, apply a coat every now and then. When compared to the cost of replacing cables or batteries far too frequently, this is a low-cost measure.
If you keep your batteries in good working order, you'll be fine. which is something that everyone does nowadays - This is something you should keep on hand to use when checking your batteries. Spray protectors are convenient and quick, but they allow too much corrosion to build up, particularly beneath the plastic wire sheathing. Corrosion develops beneath the wire sheathing, which is not visible. The white chalky crystals fall out of the cable sheathing where the crimping connects the heavy gauge copper wire to the copper / alloy connectors that go onto the battery terminals when you move the cables. This is the point at which your cables corrode and fall apart, resulting in intermittent electrical gapping, shutoff, and sparking, which can damage high-amperage components like inverters, chargers, and the batteries themselves. Use this to seal up these vulnerable areas and prevent corrosion - Keep oxygen out, and your terminals will oxidize, crystalize, and corrode at a much slower rate! If you get dirt on it before it dries, the dirt will stick to it - However, anything you use that is gel or wet when applied falls into this category.
The shipment had a leak and was a complete disaster! The package arrived on time and in perfect condition. The contents of the can were sealed in a heat shrink bag inside the can, and when the lid was unscrewed, there was a mess of contents inside the heat shrink bag, not a little, but a lot. br> I'm not sure if returning to Amazon is environmentally friendly. I ended up cutting it open and using the car's battery protector. Everything else will be thrown away. br>br>It appears to be a good product, with only a minor flaw in the packaging.
Caig DeoxIT Battery Cleaner is a battery cleaner that has been developed by Caig. Protect is the product I purchased. It's a good product, but it'll be obsolete soon. I really should have double-checked the date. I just didn't think anyone would want to get rid of expired goods.
It appears to have left a protective coating on clean battery terminals after I applied it. I don't know how well it works, but based on the appearance of the coating after application, I think it's a good product.
I bought this to put on the battery terminals of my Jeep's new replacement battery. The muck on the terminal contributed to the battery's life being cut short.
