It can only be put into this and many new vehicles if you use a funnel to insert it into the fluid dipstick.
Hey there, in my case, I had no choice but to try the Barrs stop leak as I have a 1994 Ford pickup. The transmission needed to be replaced, but it didn't make much sense. In the past, I have used Barr's on other leaks without a problem. My leak got worse this time when I used another stop leak in addition to Barrs. A short while later, I tried the Barrs, but the leak did not When I called a few transmission shops, everyone said I had ruined the whole transmission by adding stop leak and I needed to rebuild it instead of just replacing the seals. A 5 speed manual transmission in a 2001 Mazda B3000 (Ford Ranger with Mazda lipstick) with 125,000 miles and a seeping front transmission seal was successfully repaired by this method. ATF was added to the trans after it was drained and a 6 ounce stop leak was applied, followed by Mercon ATF according to the service manual. The vehicle was driven 200 miles without a noticeable leak. In some situations it is a temporary fix for a minor leak, but it's not as effective as putting a band-aid on a broken arm. If a large leak occurs in a gasket or seal, repair is sometimes needed Although this product may not be suitable for everyone, it worked very well for me.
There is no downside to this product. On my 2008 Equinox, I had a dripping leak. As a result, the leak has been stopped. You can remove the yellow dipstick / fill plug from under the hood by the way. Take the motor mount out from underneath, but do not go underneath. I don't think it's necessary to do so.
There was a small leak in the housing of the transmission that this didn't fix. There is a chance that my factory gasket is NOT cork or rubber, which might explain why it doesn't work.
The road test I will be driving to determine if the system works yet hasn't been completed. The ride afterward should be okay as long as you drive enough. No one knows for sure.
Do not expect results right away. You need to drive 300 miles for a full cure, according to the directions. In my diesel truck, it took about 100 miles so it performed better than it was supposed to.
I poured it in, drove it for 10 miles, and the next day there was no oil on the floor.
I have used Bars leaks products for over 50 years and I am very satisfied with their products. There is no exception to the rule here. Bars are a good addition if you are going to add something.
This car shifts smoothly and I can drive it.
