I recently purchased my first diesel vehicle (a Dodge Ecodiesel) and am seeking advice. Is it worthwhile to give it a shot, and does it actually improve mpg?

I've been using it in my 2016 Ecodiesel since May when I bought the truck. It appears to improve my overall mileage by about 1-percentage point. 2 mpg. From Oklahoma to Seattle, I took a road trip. The distance traveled is 4600 miles. It was 25 on average. Overall, I give it a 6. For a 4x4, I thought it was excellent. The product has met my expectations.

What is the shelf life of this fuel additive if I buy a large quantity?

Is it possible that this is a de-escalation? Is it possible to use an emulsifier instead of a solvent?

Yes! A glycol-based demulsifier is present in all of our diesel fuel additives, including EDT.

Is it safe to use this in between uses of the hot shot extreme clean and boost? The extreme clean and boost is used once every six months, while the edt is used every time you fill up your tank. ?

Yes, using the two products together is safe. That's how it's supposed to work. The EDT is for daily maintenance, while the Extreme is a concentrated version that, when used correctly, can clean a whole system.

On a 2018 Chevy HD Diesel, it didn't work - Be cautious when purchasing something online

So, because my neighbor is a huge fan of all things diesel extreme, I decided to give it a shot. He is a RAM driver. In my 2018 Chevy 2500 HD LT, I used the Diesel Extreme treatment and then switched to the Everyday Diesel treatment as instructed on subsequent refuels. I got an engine code P20EE and the engine went into low power mode after using half of the bottle. I took it to the dealer, who informed me that there is a dealer warning against using additives because they cause this error code by tripping the nitrogen sensor due to reduced nitrogen. They drained the tank and replaced it with regular gasoline, which immediately cleared the problem. I wasn't charged for this visit because it wasn't mentioned in the owner's manual, but I was told not to do it again. I was also told not to use oil additive, which is specifically stated in the diesel manual, and not to use oil additive at all because it is already included in AC Delco's synthetic oil. I think this is great for older engines, but newer diesels should be avoided at all costs. Anyone who wants mine is welcome to it.

This additive was first used on a 92,000-mile Audi Q7 TDI. I used to just use "good" diesel from Name Branded (Shell, Exxon, etc. ) before using this product. Around 80,000 miles, the engine began to feel underpowered, and I began to notice a decrease in fuel mileage (note: This was not the result of any TDI 'update' related to Diesel Gate). 1 tank of gas (approximately 1. 25 gallons) The engine felt brand new after only 5 ounces of addative. I've been using 1 ounce per full refil (26 gallon tank) and the engine has never run so well. The engine's fuel economy is on par with or better than when it was new. I can't say enough good things about this product, which I would recommend to anyone who owns a diesel engine.

I started researching best practices for keeping these little engines happy after purchasing our 2012 VW TDI diesel with 140K miles. According to what I read, the United States produces some of the lowest-quality D2 diesel in the world. Even Canada's diesel has a higher cetane and lubricity rating than the United States, not to mention Europe, which has much higher standards than the United States. The high pressure fuel pump (HPFP), which is crank driven to enormous pressure in order for the injectors to do their job, appears to be the weak point of these TDI engines. If these HPFP parts fail on common rail engines, they can literally grenade and throw shards of metal everywhere in the downstream fuel system, resulting in a very expensive repair, if not outright destruction of the engine. The ability of the fuel to lubricate these pumps is critical to their proper operation. Even though no official data has been published to my knowledge, there appears to be some evidence that Canadian-operated TDIs have lower HPFP failure rates than US-fueled vehicles. Sulpher in diesel had good lubricating properties, but it was bad for the environment, so the EPA removed it from D2, much like leaded gasoline did in the past. So Hot Shot's EDT was the second tank I used in my TDI. I can't speak to the relative differences because I've been running this since almost the beginning. What I like about it is the claimed increased lubricity and cetane boost, which is supposed to bring our terrible D2 up to par with the rest of the world. Fuel economy appears to be fine, but the allure of a low-spin turbo and the resulting torque is sometimes too strong to let fuel economy have a chance. Besides, I need to get rid of all the carbon that has accumulated: ) I like how the Hotshot's EDT appears to be more concentrated and less expensive than the competition's. For my TDI, 1 oz per tank is nearly a performance treatment. For a fill-up, it's a small price to pay, and I hope it stays that way. The bottle, which is one of my pet peeves, may be the one thing that others love about this product. To make measuring easier, the bottle is designed to be squeezed to obtain the desired amount in the top fill area. My concern is that the filler neck isn't long enough to cram into the filler without a funnel, and diesel isn't great for painting. My workaround was to save empty bottles from other gasoline treatments and fill them with EDT using a syringe, then store them in the trunk in double plastic bags. It appears to work fine, though the kitchen is probably not the best location for this because it does not smell like flowers. The bulk bottle will most likely be my next purchase. It's a shame we need this kind of protection now, because US fuel standards are practically non-existent. existent. Even B1 blended bio diesel would be a significant improvement in lubricity, but it is not available where I live. It's really good!.

I was looking for a good additive for my 01 Cummins engine. After doing some research and searching online, it appeared that hot shots was the only company with proven results and a solid reputation. I didn't have any issues with my truck that I was aware of. It was running fine and smoothly before I started adding this. I needed something to protect it and keep it in good working order. When I first got the truck, it had 191,000 miles on it, so I went through it and replaced all the fluids just to be safe. At 197,000 miles, we've come a long way. When it comes to the first few tanks, you won't notice much right away. Unless you have some gunk in your system, injectors, or something else, which would explain why you're looking at this additive. I'm about half way through a bottle, maybe a little more, and my Cummins loves it. This stuff, I believe, is assisting me in maintaining the quality of my fuel, lubricating my fuel system injectors, and so on. Bottom line, the stuff is doing something, but what exactly is it doing? I'm not sure what it's doing, but it seems to be working its magic. The truck is in excellent condition, gets good gas mileage, and has plenty of power and smoothness. I would strongly advise!.

I don't see how this could be beneficial. It's possible that I'm not using dirty diesel because the pump I only use runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, ensuring that fresh fuel is always available. We use so much that I'm sure a semi truck comes by every other day. I'll keep you updated if I notice any differences later. I can't give an mpg or a positive review right now because I never fill up anywhere else. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> Thursday, February 25, 2018. What the hell, this thing is actually functional. If you don't get a response after one shot, go for the performance and try again. I'm actually surprised at how much of a difference there is between the two shots of this thing. Keep doing whatever it is, or whatever they put in, because it definitely made my truck more responsive, and I already have my truck tuned, so this just adds more MPG to it. I estimate that I gained about 1 MPG as a result of this, which equates to 26 additional miles per gallon plus the benefits. Although some may argue that it is costly, keeping your injectors clean is a must on new vehicles unless you want to pay high stealership prices. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> March 23, 2018br>It appears that if this is exposed to air for an extended period of time, it will begin to gunk up, and any area that is not mixed and dries on any surface becomes sticky. To avoid problems, I won't put in more than the recommended amount, but the product should help if you run it on sludge diesel.
