Questions & Answers

Do you know of anyone who's used this to stop oil leaks? What happened? Did it work for you?

There was a leak in the oil pan of an old Toyota. Slick50 did not affect leaks at all in my case over many years of use. Nevertheless, it was a car over two decades old. Once an already existing leak has been found, I believe that the material isn't meant to repair it.

What are the parts needed for the Dodge Ram 1500 with the 4 cylinder engine? What is the engine 7?

This oil crankcase should work on most gasoline engines. Do not overfill the oil crankcase. Case in point. In the winter mornings when the cold temperatures make starting ups easier, I find that this is particularly useful. The result seems to be an advantage over cold starts, but the stuff does nothing to fix anything.

Is there a way to use it with 0W ?

With 0W oil I am using it. Everything seems to be in order.

If you use it, do you need to change the oil?

That is not what you do But you might want to wait to see if it's necessary when your oil needs to be changed. Despite the fact that you don't need to do it, F- If you just changed your oil in 500 to 1000 miles, you might want to add 50 when changing your oil. It may extend the oil's life and coat engine parts, so you may want to do this. The one exception is if you want to add it to dirty oil as it will not harm. Choose what works for you.

This product does what it promises
5/5

For older engines, it is great help. It's possible to put A LOT of additives in your car's engine, and I would not put any of them into my engine unless/until I'd figured out exactly how they work, and then decided whether or not the "pros" In the long run, the "pros" (e. g. <extra_id_21> outweigh the "cons" (e. g. , energy consumption). The process is added expense/hassle, there are no measurable performance improvements, and there are potential hazards associated with it. In 2001, I purchased a Suburban which has over 215,000 miles. Having added Prolong treatment to the transmission fluid, I cannot say with certainty whether it helped, but I CAN assure you that the original tran is still shifting smoothly and is working as well as it ever did. There have been a lot of different treatments I've tried for cleaning the fuel system, all of which are effective at different levels. However, I'm currently using Sea Foam on the system, and I really like it. There's always been a near miss Improved pick-up speeds in an instant An uptime or performance that lasts a month or more. Until now, I have never used any additives in the main oil system, except for an occasional sludge treatment done by Jiffy Lube or another oil service company. My decision to try Slick 50 culminated in my experiencing, among other things, longer and longer periods of valve lifter noise at cold startup. was getting to the point where I could hear the lifters clacking for more than a minute after starting As I recall, I have been told many times over the years by different mechanics/friends that most "normal" friction damage that occurs to valves, lifters and cylinder walls occurs during startup of the engine, e. g. This usually occurs when most of the oil protecting these parts has settled to the bottom of the engine and has not yet been recirculated They should be circulated to coat and lubricate them completely. I understand that what this stuff does is add a "super grease" to your regular oil, so that it adheres to the components when the oil passes over them, and does not "settle" with the rest of the oil on shut-off. As a result, all the parts are ALWAYS coated in a "base" lubricant, which is constantly replenished by your regular oil circulation through the engine. The 30th). The noise from lifters stopped almost immediately after that. 5 things you should know. The older 3L Vortec engine in this car always ran smoothly when it was in good working order, but when I added Slick 50 to the oil, it became even smoother and quieter. There is not a single sound coming from inside the car when the engine is running. To make sure it's running, I have to look at the gauges. As much as I probably should have started using an additive like this long ago, I've been a stickler about following the manufacturers' recommendations when I can, and Chevy's recommendation for this vehicle To keep your car running smoothly, you should simply perform oil changes at the recommended intervals. There is no additive to this product. The recommendation was probably valid only for the first 100 or so thousand miles. If you keep the car running for VERY long beyond the original manufacturer's maintenance schedule, you're pretty much on your own, and this stuff (their "recharged" formula) is specifically designed to give some assistance to engine parts that are already showing signs of wear. Even if I knew the details of all the additives, I wouldn't touch them with a ten-foot pole Slick 50 has never been on my list of these, but I'm now convinced that it's not. A product like this has been on the market since 1970 The product works exactly as it is described, and I am very pleased with the results so far, and recommend it as a great product for enhancing performance and protecting older engines.

I ran a lab test when I was a Mechanical Engineering student to test the friction coefficient of three different oils
5/5

The oil with the best friction coefficient was chosen as the engine oil to use most. In one, the oil was mainly oil, but in the other two, it was mixed with additives. Our blind test was a blind one (we did not know which was which oil. ) The oil treated with Slick 50 had the least The last time we used it was in our cars and in my family. I had watched my brother add a quarter to a third of a bottle each time he changed the oil, and when he finally sold his suburban, it still had 394,000 miles on it (original, still running engine).

My car is still running today thanks to this stuff! As soon as I put this, I My car is still running today thanks to this stuff! The oil had been put into the car already, so I went to get a quick oil change a couple weeks later
5/5

It was the wrong part that was put in and the guy (Unknown to me) I found that all my oil was leaking on the way to work the following morning. The fire was visible at a gas station after I barely made it to the pump as black smoke billowed from the exhaust. There was a lot of fear! It should be a total loss for my car according to the mechanic. After asking if I had added anything to it, he told me no I hadn't. He asked me what I put in it. I said Slick 50. A smile and kinda laugh emerged from him, followed by the question, "really?"? I had to get slick 50 to save my car, he said. The car had about 250 miles on it when I gave it away several years later.

There have been a few older vehicles I've had that started running hotter as they aged
5/5

It might be time to replace the cooling system. I had one that would blow off the upper radiator hose after a drive. The hose would be blown so badly it looked like a banana peel when it was blown off. As soon as the car was parked, the water in the radiator was boiling. The coolant system can be flushed a little to alleviate the problem. When I treat my vehicle with Slick 50 once a year, I report that I can gain as much as 1/4 of my temperature gauge back to the cool side. Though it depends on the type of oil, it still seems to work. Bars Leak is the only additive I am a fan of. Fuel cleaners and other products are not used by me. Slick 50 has been effective enough for me to use it from time to time.

In Bullet 50, the bullets will fly You need to "prove" your engine
5/5

As early as 1980, I was using Slick 50. The oil pick on my car gets clogged after I run the engine like a "scalded dog" without oil An up-close view of my older engines after fixing the oil issue. After fixing the issue, there was no evident damage to the engines. Fuel efficiency for all of my vehicles increased as well. Slick 50 marketing is so low to me that I cannot comprehend. These items are becoming increasingly hard to find as well. There is something magic about this stuff. It's a treatment I do for all of my vehicles, so I don't have to worry about that oil light popping on. The fact that Slick 50 is used on my engines gives me confidence to continue to do this, since I have seen that happening first-hand on three of my engines in the past. It is still my policy to have at least two of the same cars after one has been sold. Feel free to check out this stuff for yourself if you have any doubts about the benefits. You can check the warranty or guarantee on the Slick 50.

I was able to improve the performance of my vehicle at a very reasonable price
4/5

Afterwards, I started the vehicle after pouring the product into the crankcase and waiting for 15 minutes. In the middle of the night, the noisy lifters went silent, but they started making noise again Rather than waiting 15 to 20 minutes for the lifter noise to stop, now you can stop it immediately. Within 3 to 4 minutes, it will go away. I also noticed a noticeable difference when I am driving when my RPM Gage reaches toward its top my engine sounds smoother and feels stronger. I believe that this product will aid my vehicle in the long run.

You've got a fan in me! There have been decades of Slick 50 in existence
5/5

The mechanics forgot to add oil after an oil change, but I was able to save the engine by using it. I noticed my car was running a little hotter than usual for a couple of days, so I checked the oil and brought it back to the shop, where they promptly added more Formulas like this can of Slick don't seem to be the same as the cans of spray It was a 50 I used back then, but, I believe it will be beneficial for my automobile in the future.

A cool fifty
5/5

Chevrolet suburban with 180000 miles on it. When I take off from a stop, it will blow a little blue smoke, and the oil will leak a bit. A fresh oil change plus the addition of slick 50 and a new filter was completed. There is no oil leak yet, because it has not been in the car for long enough to stop the smoking and idling. There have only been a few days since the event.
