This is what I used to fill the new radiator after I replaced my old one. It's been a month and I haven't had any problems; just make sure you mix it 50/50 with distilled water. At Family Dollar, a gallon of distilled water costs about $1.
This is a concentrate that needs to be mixed with water before use.
There's no reason why it shouldn't be coolant. It's just that it's essentially a Subaru OEM liquid.
Use Subaru Long Life Coolant for a 2007 (green, older, concentrate). Use Subaru Super Coolant (blue, newer, 50/50) for all 2009 Subarus. DON'T MATCH THEM WITH EACH OTHER! In a nutshell, older Subarus are green; Subarus that are newer are more likely to be blue in color. If you're not sure, ask your dealer. Coolant issues in Subarus are extremely sensitive, so be safe rather than sorry. Look up the conditioner on the internet; you'll find a lot of interesting things said about it. (It also depends on the engine you have; this is a major research topic.)

The cost of changing the coolant is high. br>br>However, it is said that using Subaru ore mix rather than mixing your own will make it last longer. br>br>Genuine; I also bought the brown bottle conditioner, which helps prevent rust. br>br>It will appear as if I'm using oil as a coolant, but it will be used sparingly.
All the way across the United States, it took only two days to arrive. Because it arrived via USPS, it's a little strange. I'm not sure why, but it's a green substance. I was under the impression it was supposed to be blue, hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha Anyway, it works fine; I paid $1 for a gallon of distilled water and got two gallons of 50/50 coolant for the same price as one gallon of pre-mixed coolant. a 50/50 split.
Subaru has given their approval to the coolant, which is a good sign. It's a little pricey, and I'm not sure if it has any advantages over most other propylene glycol mixtures on the market, but the manufacturer recommends it. It appears to be effective.
The end result was satisfactory - However, the package was delivered to the United States Postal Service (USPS) - who was then stuffed into a mail box The box appeared to be in good condition - However, the product escaped the plastic bag and spilled inside.
It was less expensive than going to a local dealership and it saved me time. I just used it after replacing the timing belt on my 2004 WRX; make sure to use distilled water when mixing it. Anything else would be a waste of time for me.
(With OEM additive) It's working great.
So, if you own a Subaru and need to add antifreeze, this is the place to go.
I try to limit my purchases to Subaru items.
