As soon as it begins to get below 35° F or so, I wear this mask when walking or biking to school. Your cheeks and face are just kept warm with just a little bit of warmth. The hat will flatten your hair the same way any other hat will when worn for long periods of time. By breathing out of your mouth, you will also make the front of the mask humid, but it won't make it significantly colder. It is a comfortable fit and the stitching is not uncomfortable. There are no loose parts on the mask. nylon material of the mask keeps wrinkles from forming, making it super portable and inconsequential to throw in a bag even when you suspect that you might be outside all day.

For skiing, I bought it a while back it kept my head and face warm despite the cold, but I wish there was a more comfortable option We had 5 degrees of weather yesterday. The balaclava I own has been a constant in my wardrobe for more than a year. I wear it on conventions, costume raves, and public appearances in costume, and it is well loved. In many, many washes, it has held up well in the washing machine and protected my costume heads very well. The rubbing alcohol I use to disinfect between washes dries very quickly for reuse and it does not need to be rewashed. As well as being comfortable, it looks good.
