No, they do not rip easily because the material is extremely tough. If you catch them on something sharp, they may rip, but not from normal use.

I won't get drenched in the morning dew if I sit in the boat! When the sun dries up the dew, these quickly dry and come off, allowing me to roll them up for the next time. They store well and roll up tightly for storage. I use slosh (a scuba dive cleaner) to wash them gently. After that, let it air dry. They are extremely quick to dry and maintain their shape. I have another pair that I've had for two years and they're still going strong!.
I'd just go with what you normally wear for pants because they'll fit just fine. br>br>In addition, after a few months of light use, the waistband has begun to come undone, and the elastic band that holds them in place has begun to come loose. After a few months of light use, these will be useless and thrown away.

I was sorely disappointed with myself. I'm glad I bought it because it's the best rain gear I've ever bought. This year's winter in Oregon arrived early, and I was ready for it. These pants were extremely useful, and they did more than just keep the rain at bay. I was also kept warm by them. This book comes highly recommended.
These aren't the ones in the picture. As others have pointed out, there are no pocket slits and no ankle elastic, despite what the photo suggests. There are no pockets or slots on the ankle closure, which is just a Velcro strip.
These pants were given to my father as a present. He walks his dog every day, even when it's raining, and he despises getting wet. He used to have a pair of these pants and loved them, so I bought him a new pair. They were well-fitting and arrived sooner than anticipated. The price was comparable to that of cabellas and similar stores, but it came with free shipping and arrived quickly.
I went with a large size. I needed the extra length because I'm 6'1". The length is good, but they tend to run a little large, which isn't a problem for me because I'll be wearing them over other clothes. Don't buy these if you want to make a fashion statement with your rain gear! They're all about function and lightness, but they're lacking in pockets and aren't particularly flattering.
I only wore them once or twice, but they leaked in the crotch the last time I wore them. Everything else was dry, but when I finally got off the bike, it looked like I had soiled myself. I guess for $20 they provided $20 worth of rain protection since 20 only 20 of my clothes were wet.
