Questions & Answers

What is the procedure for sizing?

I was in between large and XL and ordered the large, which was pretty close to Leatt's sizing chart. I'm glad I did because, in my opinion, a little tension is preferable to slipping. During long rides, you'll probably lose some weight and leg size.

Do the pads stay in place when you're riding and when you hit the ground?

They don't move at all and are extremely comfortable if you get the right size.

Is this a pair of knee guards or a single knee guard?

Pair.

My calf is 15 inches long, according to leatte measurements. My thigh is 19 inches long, so I'm a size 5 and could fit into a size large. The size 5 corresponds to a large size. I'm not sure what size to get. ?

The XL is what I would choose. My issue is the polar opposite of yours - pop- The thighs are skinny, but the calves are eye-catching. I'm wearing a 17-inch XL. When the knee protector is comfortably in place, it measures 5 inches around the calf and 18 inches around the thigh. By the way, I adore these knee protectors, as well as all of my other Leatt gear. Although Leatt isn't cheap, I believe you get what you pay for in this case. This book comes highly recommended.

The Best Knee Pad for Women
5/5

Ever? I may have gone a little crazy and tried out about ten different knee pads, and these were probably the least exciting when I first started looking, but they ended up being the most comfortable of them all. After putting a few hundred miles on them, I can confidently say they are the best pads I've ever owned, and I reach for them on every ride (with the exception of DH days/resort riding or shuttle laps). When you're cruising downhill, they breathe well and are very comfortable to pedal in, with no irritation or chafing. br>br>I tried on a few others. POC Joint VPD (better padding, not as comfortable, too expensive), Dakine Slayer (meh, the new 2020 model isn't as good as the old ones), Troy Lee Stage (great pads, but didn't like the thigh high knee sleeve feel), Troy Lee Raid (fit was just okay), Ion K pact (whole other level of protection, but not as comfortable), Sweet Protection (seriously amazing, but warm), Scott Soldier 2 (not bad.

They are fantastic, amazing, and I adore them
5/5

I was wearing TLD speed sleeves, which, contrary to the reviews, have no circulation and are extremely hot. Based on the reviews, I decided to buy these. br>First and foremost, they are well-protected. Along with the main front guards, there is side padding. br>Second, I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent circulation. The front guards allow you to feel air flow, which is incredible considering the TLD sleeves don't have any. The back is mesh with a cutout that allows for plenty of airflow. The mesh is the same as on the TLD speed elbow sleeves (although I'm not sure why the TLD knee sleeves don't have it). The TLD speed knee sleeves were the first thing I put on after a ride because they allow me to wear them without overheating and are so comfortable that I don't take them off until I get home. br>3rd, they continue to do so. I've ridden 25 miles on rough trails and haven't experienced any slipping. They feel like they're slipping at first, but they don't. So far, the delicate wash cycle has been kind to them. I expect the mesh on these to last as long as the mesh on the TLD speed elbow sleeves. (excellent for over a year)br>Even the extra large, unnecessary labels on the front tops of the sleeves do not chafe or rub.

I'm a little torn between the two options
3/5

I'm on the fence about these pads because they're so thin and don't appear to be able to withstand a direct hit. They do, however, cover the entire knee, including the sides. I was looking for something with a lot more protection and weight. These would be ideal if you're looking for light pads that can provide some protection. They stay put, are comfortable, and smell great. br>br>A few weeks ago, I fell and my knee was scratched. The POC VPD 2 is my personal favorite. 0 I have the elbow pads, and they are fantastic; they are less expensive than the VPD System. Regardless, I would have preferred to pay an extra $40 for the POC VPD 2. Cheers.

I really wanted to like them, but I don't think I do
3/5

I was hoping to enjoy these a lot more than I do. They're so light that you can feel the breeze passing through them. They'd probably keep you safe in a crash, but they're not very comfortable for me. They're the right length for my legs, but they're prone to rolling up and down. The knee cap isn't the most comfortable part of the outfit. To pedal in, I actually prefer my old ixs flow knee pads. By the time these wear out, which, according to feedback on loam wolf's YouTube channel, will be in a season or less, I'll probably go back to those.

Kneepads are very light and comfortable to ride in, but the back mesh is a little too delicate
4/5

Despite the fact that I am nearly 6 feet tall and weigh around 170 pounds, I am a size Large. Because I am petite, I assumed a medium would be the best fit, but I decided to go with the measurements. They're a little snug, but not painfully so. I wore them around the house for about 2 hours as soon as I got them, and they are extremely comfortable. Following that, I took measurements of my legs where they had left marks above and below my knee. I could wear an XL, which is strange. br>br>I took them on a 14-mile ride that lasted about 1 hour 40 minutes. The pads are extremely comfortable and provide excellent pedaling performance. It was never necessary for me to adjust or pull them up. They did come down a little lower on the thigh, but my calves and grips stopped them. I didn't crash, but they did protect my knees when I collided with my top tube. The pads are extremely comfortable, and the airflow is fantastic. It's as if air is blowing in! Time will tell as I try to fit in as much riding as possible, but I am very pleased with these pads. br>br>From barely touching them on a pin on my flat pedals, I did make a small hole in the back mesh. I could see them ripping just walking through tall prairie grass because that mesh is far too delicate. That is the only reason I gave it four stars; for the price, the back of the knees should be made of better material.

It's soft and it stays put
5/5

For mountain biking, I needed a well-fitting, comfortable knee pad. I'm an average rider who mostly rides blue single track trails with a lot of obstacles like trees and rocks, but I don't ride downhill, so I didn't feel the need for a super hard kneepad. I had no problems after the first few rides. The pads are about the right size for me. They are snug for the first few minutes, but once I started riding, I forgot I was wearing them, and after an hour of riding on a hot, humid day, I had no rubbing or chafing issues. The durability hasn't been an issue so far, but I've only used it a few times.

I've tried a lot of knee pads, and these are by far the best
5/5

I've been mountain biking for ten years and have avoided wearing knee pads because they're uncomfortable, sweaty, and a pain to use in general. Following a couple of bad crashes earlier this year that left my knee swollen and kept me off the bike for a few weeks, I decided to try the Leatt Airflex Pro knee pads. br>br>If you're thinking about getting these, go ahead and get them. I have a dozen or so 1-pound bags. I've done a couple of two-hour rides and a few four-hour rides, and all I can say is that after about five minutes, I forget I'm wearing pads! They're lightweight, breathable, and comfortable. In hot weather (85F), they don't get clammy, and I've even "tested" them a few times (read: After the crash, I was able to get back on the bike and ride happily with no damage to the brake pads.
