You will not like it because it is too tight.
2 pairs of knee pads
I'm 5'8" and 185 pounds, and they fit, but I should have ordered the ones without the shin pad because I ordered these for motocross. If you're going to be wearing these with motocross boots, skip the shin pads.
Selected User Reviews For EVS Sports Unisex-Adult T. Pastrana 199 Knee/Shin Pad (Black/Hi-Viz Yellow, Small/Medium) - TP199K-BK-S/M
At the end of October 2019, I purchased a pair of L/XL knee pads. After two months of use, I returned home and removed my knee pads, only to discover that the right one had torn apart right at the seam below the logo. It appears that the top piece of fabric was not sewed down far enough, and the thread only caught the edge of it. I sent some photos to EVS customer service to explain the situation. Even during the holidays, they were quick to respond and sent me a new pair of pads without hesitation, even if it meant forcing me to return the old ones. br>br>The pads themselves are extremely comfortable and provide adequate protection without being overly bulky like some other pads. My only criticisms are that they are quite warm, and the fabric has a tendency to bunch up around the back of the knee. A small cutout would be nice, but it wouldn't be a deal breaker for me. Overall, I would buy them again, and I appreciate EVS's excellent customer service!.
The idea and concept are fantastic, and the pads would be perfect if a few tweaks were made to them to make them truly functional. br>br>1. It's double sleeved, really thick, and binds up behind the back of the leg, so it needs a cut out in the back. br>br>2. The material is too thick; it should be made of a light mesh spandex rather than a wetsuit thick material. br>br>3. It is extremely hot and sweaty due to the heavy material and the double sleeve. 4. br>br> The backstrap around the bottom leg should be removed because it is unnecessary; instead, a good quality mesh material should be used, and the opera Velcro should be mall or in a finer stealthy material.
I ordered these thinking they'd be slimmer so they'd fit under my Oxford motorcycle jeans, which aren't too tight and have room for knee pads, but the EVS guards are too big. They fit perfectly under my Klim ADV pants, so that's not an issue, but I agree with others that they're a little uncomfortable on long rides with the knee bent, and that they can get hot and sweaty underneath. br>br>As there is bulk behind the knee when sitting, they appear to be made for standing. They're well-made, and the concept is sound; however, the next version, in my opinion, needs to be refined.
These are well-made and comfortable on their own, but they are so long and bulky that they prevented me from closing my Gaerne GX-100. Even with the top three buckles set to the widest setting, 1 boots comfortably. I have a 29" inseam, so taller people with longer shins might not have this issue, but I had to return this item because of it. br>It's also worth noting that they're pretty close together. Despite a slippery and very thin base layer underneath, these were extremely difficult to pull up. I am a size small or medium in everything (130lbs).
I've had and liked the earlier neoprene versions of these pastrana guards for years, and something in the middle of the two would be ideal, but I despise ones that slide down and move around while riding, which these don't. One tip: there's a small piece of fabric inside that connects the upper outer part to the inner part, which I eventually cut, causing a roll and making them fit even better.
The pads are well-made and comfortable, and they provide adequate shin protection. However, the knee protection is inadequate, and it is so thin that I do not feel secure wearing them. It was returned to me.
This product appears to be of high quality.
Even after double-checking sizing, the returned item required the next size up.
