Questions & Answers

What is the definition of "waterproof" in this context? Thanks?

Not very. It's fine for a light drizzle or a short ride, but it'll soak through after an hour or so on longer rides (over 300 miles per day). This, however, is true of all such jackets, including the most expensive. In the end, you'll need a rain layer if you want to be truly waterproof.

Will this jacket keep you warm in temperatures ranging from 32 to 40 degrees Fahrenheit? I'm going on a mountain biking adventure near the Himalayas. Could someone please tell me if this will work in the low 30s F?

At 40 degrees Fahrenheit, I'm up for a one-hour ride. Underneath, I put on two layers. To keep my neck warm, I put on a balaclava. My hands and feet are the first to become cold, followed by my torso.

Thank you for your time; it is a pleasure to serve you. What I'm most interested in learning about this robe is whether it's truly impermeable and highly reflective, thank you. ?

If it is impermeable, it will only reflect a small amount of light.

Is the inner thermal liner a vest, or does it extend to the sleeves?

This jacket's lining extends to the sleeves. For the money, this is a fantastic jacket. It has since become my "winter" jacket. I moved from Alaska, so I'm used to the cold.

Jacket is able to withstand a collision! I bought this jacket a few months ago and hadn't worn it until a trip to the mountains in North Carolina
5/5

At about 40 mph, I collided with a deer emerging from a curse. My jacket and elbow pad took the brunt of the impact on the pavement as I went down hard on my left side. The sleeve of my jacket was shredded, but I was unharmed. This is an excellent jacket for the price, and I plan to purchase another. When I get a new bike, I'll do the following:.

Buy it
5/5

Now is the time to purchase. I'm going to call this preliminary because I've only had it for a few days and can't comment on how long it will last. However . This jacket is at least on par with similar jackets that cost $150 or more that I looked at. br>Let's begin at the beginning. When I first saw it, I was completely blown away. It has a plethora of pockets, both inside and out, and, like a well-designed touring jacket, the tops of the exterior pockets fold over before being velcro'd shut, ensuring that no rain gets in. There's even a phone pocket on the inside! br>There is a heavy zipper that is covered by a strong hook and loop flap. When you undo the hook and loop, it makes a sound like you're ripping a phone book in half. br>br>The jacket is equipped with a number of straps that allow it to be tailored to the wearer's preferences. At the waist, across the biceps, wrists, the bottom of the jacket, and around the neck. After some strap adjustments, what appeared to be a formless jacket when I took it out of the box now appears to be a tailored jacket, and I must say. I think the jacket is fantastic, and I look fantastic in it. It's designed to fit a wide range of body types within a single size. br>br>The fabric is the same nice tough tight fabric I saw at the cycle shop last week for $200. It's tough, and I believe it'll be fine if it falls, but what I found out today was. It does a fantastic job of keeping the wind at bay. br>Elbow, shoulder, and back armor were included. A thin liner that can be zipped in or out, as well as a slew of vents, are also included. br>br>Today was a cool day in Arizona, with temperatures hovering around 49 degrees and a strong wind, so I went for an 80-mile ride, almost entirely on highway at 70-plus miles per hour. 75mph. I was dressed in a jacket with lining and a simple uninsulated standard weight long sleeved tee shirt. I was extremely hot! If I were still in NYC, I would have gone for a sweatshirt, which I believe is all I would need because the fabric and all the closures keep the wind out so well that you don't feel cold. Because I couldn't get the throat strap tight enough to seal completely, I would have included a light scarf. Aside from that, it was fantastic, and I'm confident that in Arizona, I'll be able to ride into the mid-40s wearing only a T-shirt. br>br>I swear, I have no idea how they can sell this jacket for that price, but I'd buy one before someone realizes they made a mistake! I'd buy another right now as a backup, but I'm still losing weight and am worried it won't fit in a year. That's how good it is! br>br>For those who are unsure of their size, I am 5'9" and 195 pounds, and despite my age, I still have an athletically shaped body with a 45" chest, 37" waist, and a small belly. I would have been uncomfortable in a large and wouldn't have been able to fit a sweatshirt or vest because of my chest size, so the Xl was ideal. The jacket will flatter a variety of body types, but you're tied to your armpits, and anything smaller would have been too tight. br>br>Awesome jacket at a great price.

After 24 years of riding, I've finally made it! I'll upload some photos as soon as possible
5/5

1. According to their chart, the jacket fits perfectly.
2. All of the jackets (Joe Rocket, Field Sheer, Alpine Star, Moose) have the same material and stitching.
3. Armor is standard/average and can be easily removed (though Spine Guard is a little more difficult to remove).
4. It's clear that you pay close attention to the details. The button loops on my jacket insert are different colors (one is black, the other is white), so you don't have to worry about twisting your insert sleeve.
5. It is water resistant/proof (Stood Up to Monsoon Rain)br>6. There are numerous pockets, including a lower back zippered pocket that can easily accommodate a MacBook Pro.
7. Straps/Tensioners, or whatever you want to call them, are all in the right places to tighten up the 'loose' fitting areas and prevent "flapping. " THEY COULD ADD ONE OR TWO MORE TO EACH ARM.
8. Warm and windproof, to say the least. At 90mph, riding in 39 degrees, my core was at ease.
9. When reaching for the controls, the sleeves are long enough to keep from riding up.
10. CAN'T BE BEAT ON PRICE!.

A high-quality jacket at a bargain price
4/5

This jacket should be worth at least $140. I'm baffled as to how something of this caliber can be so inexpensive. I have a $400 Codura hiking pack, and this is unmistakably a Codura product. It's very visible at night, and you can take off the inner liner during the day to reveal the entire mesh liner. It is both water resistant and breathable. Bugs don't even get a chance to splatter on it. In Texas, anything more than a bikini is hot on a bike, but this thing ventilates so well that I'm dry in about 5 minutes of being inside the air conditioning. Advantages: br>br>
1. 2. Extremely noticeablebr> 3. Excellent padding that can be removed. br> 4. It's water-resistant. br> breathablebr>br>br>br>br>br>br>br There are numerous pockets.
6. Velcro that is extremely strongbr>7. Seams that are well-madebr>8. Codura nylon is the real deal.
9. For a heavy riding jacket, it is well ventilated. br>br>There are two drawbacks: 1. br>br> The back vent's zipper had already broken. I don't mind paying $40 for it, and any tailor can easily fix it.
2. Concern about safety: If your helmet has a quick release chin strap, the velcro on this thing's neck WILL attach and release your chip strap while you're riding. If you want the collar to be open, you must close it or use a safety pin to secure the velcro tab. In the event of a crash, this is a life-or-death situation; do not take it lightly.

Wow! What a stunning coat! I was unfamiliar with the brand
5/5

The price is ridiculously low. Although it's most likely garbage, it's worth a look. That was my thought process prior to purchasing this jacket. When I first saw the box, I was taken aback. It should be worn. This is unquestionably one of the best books I've ever read. a good riding jacket Material is of good quality, the stitching is nice, there is a mesh liner built in, and there is a zipper closure. out thermal lining, 5x zippered vents for hot weather, elbow and shoulder armor back. This jacket has a high level of craftsmanship throughout. At four times the price, it would be a good deal, and I liked it so much that I ordered matching jackets for my wife. son. You're not going to be let down.

For the money, this is a fantastic jacket
5/5

It's difficult to find anything wrong with this jacket for $50. In better/warmer weather, I ride in other, much more expensive jackets. I was looking for a low-cost, high-quality item. Viz, and warm for the cooler months in the mild winters of South Carolina. This coat is perfect for the occasion. It makes me look like a highlighter as I walk down the street, it keeps me warm, it fits me well, and it appears to provide adequate protection (hopefully I won't have to put it to the test). My only gripes are the small body protection openings, which make it nearly impossible to fit any decent armor inside, and the large HWK branding on the chest and sleeves (which, for some reason, is fairly common in lower-cost gear). I paired them with HWK pants to create a warm suit for under $100. In my opinion, you have the upper hand.
