You can feel them at the front of the ankles, but they are lower behind the ankles.

There is a moderate level of tear, rip, and scratch resistance. It looks like these are really badass shoes. It was a delight to find them matched to my other red, white, and blue items I also have a black riding gear that matches my red and white colors Exactly the black Sport bike you're looking for. As far as minor contact resistance goes, it doesn't rank all that well. I don't know how it stands up to highly intense abrasive resistance, however. While I haven't tried them yet, the shoes appear to be awesome, with good protections and a true to size fit. I am normally a 12 in Nike and ordered a 12 for these.

If you don't mind a loud squeak when you walk, this is a great shoe

Besides providing excellent ankle protection, these shoes look good, are well suited for shifting, have a decent laces-control system, and provide excellent ankle protection. Unfortunately, they squeak when you walk around, so I'm unable to recommend them. Having to deal with this is.

These shoes are awesome! A piece poked into his toe, which he loved, but it did not deter him. We had no problem returning them for a new pair of shoes as the company worked with us.
