Questions & Answers

How much torque should be applied to the fasteners that hold this brace in place?

I'm doing well- A tight knot. Having driven 2000 miles on my car with no problems, it has been trouble-free. It doesn't seem to be doing anything, but that may be just my perception.

I have a 2002 Goldwing GL1800, but it does not have an airbag. Will this fit? Chrome is not black. ?

In my case, I had a 2016 Goldwing, and it fit perfectly. If your 2002 has the same fork diameter, it should work on your bike, but it is best to check first.

After you install the brace, do you notice a big difference in the ride?

Steering is stiffened without a doubt when it's installed. With the fork brace off, it will be surprising how much the handlebars will wobble. Without the fork brace, the, handlebars will wobble but will not transfer to the front wheel because the fork flexes. Due to the fork brace, there is no more flex in the fork. The anti-roll bar on my forks is shimmed as well because I have hyperpro fork springs My rear shock reservoir was filled to restore the 0-speed, so I stopped diving to prevent the rear shocks from working Between 25 and 35. It will be a Traxxion Dynamics triple tree. It will be the most expensive mod. As for your money, what I've done so far sums up to a "big" difference in your case and I'm not interested in swapping my 2004 for an older one. My best regards. I'm Mike.

How do I know if it will fit on my 2015 F6B?

In fact, the F6B fits it just fine. This is what I put on my 2013 F6B.

First of all, I like this brace
4/5

It has soft screws, small Allen size. Though this brace is designed well and the finish is beautiful, it is too soon to tell if it will stand the test of time. I gave it four stars because the screws are very soft and the allen wrench part is hard to operate, and the allen wrench part strips Kuryakyn does not have any parts to send me after I stripped out the allen screws and wanted new screws. After I called, Kuryakyn said they don't have any parts to send It may have been possible for me to send back the damaged one to Amazon for a replacement, but the bike already had it. The problem was the four vertical screws that were installed for the center of the brace and I simply replaced them one by one now that they are in place. Then I bought some replacement screws from the hardware store, and for a couple of bucks I was good to go. In my opinion, it's very surprising that a company like Kuryakyn would not have replacement parts for their The ones who told me I could get new ones at the hardware store are the ones who told me that. In any case, I cannot tell a difference between the brace and the original one, but it may.

It looks good, is well-made, and is easy to install

How to fit Several YouTube videos explain the instructions, and if you're unsure you can refer back to the instructions. To help fit my machine, prevent the chrome from being damaged and prevent corrosion on the surfaces in contact with it, I used copper slip grease on all metal to metal surfaces and screw threads and screw caps. Typically, the brace comes in five pieces a fender bar, 2 half-fork clamps, a brace itself, and 2 half-fork brackets. I chose the latest Kuryakyn brace instead of the Traxxion Dynamics product as it was too expensive. I will therefore need to polish the brace on a regular basis as Kuryakyn has a reputation for deteriorating chrome. In comparison, I chose a 3 piece brace at a similar price that I didn't find suitable Because it is not adjustable, it is not able to accommodate production tolerance. I own a 2004 GL1800 A4 with uprated rear and front springs, so handling is reasonably good for a boat that weighs half a million pounds. I found that I could wobble the handle bars without transmitting them to the front wheel in a straight line while at speed, demonstrating that there is some After the brace was fitted the wobble in the handle bars was transmitted to the front wheel and so there was no flex. I find it hard to understand why Honda never included a fork brace in production. Their springs were also too weak to begin with. I would definitely recommend it.

The installation was easy, the look is great, the function is great, and there is no plastic involved
5/5

I have updated In 95 we rode in the back of the Wing through the Gorge My wife was poking me on the back and telling me to slow down, but I continued to do 100 mph. I don't think that was a wise move in retrospect, but seriously, I thought I was going slower until I looked at the speedometer at her request. With an increased level of stability at any speed, the price was totally worth it. I was so pleased to get this sturdy and well-built part for my motorcycle since I am so tired of chromed plastic parts on a motorcycle With metal protectors on the forks, this brace is built from metal. Aside from the beautiful design lines and the beautiful chrome finish, the whole thing is beautiful. It wouldn't make any sense to purchase one merely due to its aesthetic superiority over the chrome plastic, non-metallic models There is a structural, fork protector included on the bike. It is certainly a nice addition. fast and easy without instructions, but the instructions included a few pictures to assist in understanding the instructions.
As for function, I am certainly no expert, but I have owned my Goldwing for almost seven years and I have nearly 40,000 miles on it, so I have a very good understanding of its operation. were a bit There was a part of me hoping this would tighten things up. My evaluation found a noticeable increase in steering tackiness and response (about 25%). However, this did not have an effect on reducing the shimmy in As disappointed as I was to find no improvements to the shimmy, although it isn't that much of an issue for me since I rarely ride without my hands on the grips. I haven't had a chance to drive 95 mph on my favorite road yet, but I will be happy to provide an update if the condition is exceptional. Even at 75 mph, some improvement was noted, so I anticipate good things at 95 mph. I really like how this brace does everything it's supposed to do (clamp the forks together without adding tension between them), and it does so in a beautiful, user-friendly manner The product is easy to install, so 5 stars are deserved. My recommendation is that anyone who is prepared to blow some coin in order to get a little less flex in their forks and thus get slightly better steering response should consider this brace Although this part is certainly not essential for any Goldwing, it is certainly not excess. You should keep in mind that the Goldwing already handles really well for a larger bike, and that this brace will not transform it into a sports bike. Kuryakyn is a reliable company, so you will not be disappointed with this brace. Although I am satisfied with my brace, I believe that a new windshield would have been a better investment.

The stretch is very easy
4/5

No doubt this brace will add stability to your ride, but it is very prone to scratching. It is not worth the price to let the Chrome get scratched, even with the best treatment. Kuryakyn is known for its quality, but I think they are playing it too safe.

Upgraded by a definite margin
5/5

It really helps me feel more stable on dirt roads (I rode 4000 miles the week after installation and went to Valley of The Gods on my 01 Goldwing) I had hoped it might help tame the wobble at 35 mph, but all around a fantastic purchase!.

The brace is nice, but the instructions are poor
4/5

Despite its very good quality, fit, and finish, this brace is not cheap. As time goes on, I will be able to determine whether or not the brace gives me a few more miles of tire wear, as well as improves handling in A 2013 Goldwing F6B was fitted with this brace. Those in charge of installation aren't so good. Torque values or details about placement are not provided in the instructions. As I was uncertain about the placement, I contacted Kuryakyn and their tech rep told me it would be apparent, which it was, and they didn't give torque values. If I was worried about it, he recommended I bring it to a mechanic. In the event that a mechanic were to install it, I would ask him to use the correct torque values. *Looks nice nevertheless.

This should be a standard feature on all GL1800s
5/5

During a 15-minute installation process, the fork brace was installed. My jaw dropped when I saw the difference. It had over 85k miles on it when I purchased it, and the front end felt loose and unstable in corners. After I installed the fork brace, the bike handled like a dream, and the suspension is more dependable. This is an excellent product!.
