I purchased this for my Ninja 500R. Shock has been sealed and leaking has been stopped. Note Once the old seal is removed, you should replace it with the new one. It shouldn't have any sharp edges or anything protruding from it on all sides. The new one can be seated over it with the help of the it. The new seal must be placed on the shock, and the shock must be lowered into position. Placing the old seal next to the new seal is the next step. The older seal is all that is damaged. It is easy to bump in the new seal without damaging it. An envelope is gently pushed into place as a new seal is applied.
