The two of them go together. A Shogun kit comes with two sliders and all mounting hardware needed to install them.

I hoped I would never have to find out how well they work, but they fit my bike perfectly.
The 2009 FZ6 I own has these installed. The "black" color of these covers did not match very closely to the black of the bike (at least the engine, I have blue plastics). They went on easily and seem sturdy enough, but the "black" color is not quite black, but a very dark greyish color. The sliders were also not accompanied by instructions and, since one of them was longer than the other (the crankcase protrudes a bit more from the left), I installed the longer one on the left. It was also fortunate that I had a service manual so that I knew the torque specs for the bolts (55nM/40ftlb, they are engine mounting bolts after all and you don't want one of them to start working its way To make sure all the pieces stay in place, I would recommend blue loctite as well). In general, the product seems pretty good for some added protection, just that I would have liked a better color match and some sort of instruction.
The chances of me having to use them are slim.
The fit and finish are very good and professional (knock on wood). I haven't had a chance to test them yet, but they look great. They are identical to the OEM bolts and washers (although they are shorter to accommodate for the slider) and are provided in the standard length. In all, installation took less than five minutes for me, and I was even preoccupied on the phone at the time. A torque wrench is a must if you want to do it right To ensure a proper fit for the FZ6 engine, torque specs are 40 ft. There is a torque of 55Nm (lbs). Also, remember to use an allen socket if you're using a torque wrench. A torque wrench is not compatible with an allen wrench. You can buy a quality one for $5 at Sears or a set of eight You will be able to get to the bolt head by placing it in the slider. While I felt it was a little strange that they have a website for directions, I don't think you should need directions at all, considering you don't need them at all.
I won't drop the bike until I have a chance to do so.
There is a slight price difference, but you do get what you pay.
Affixed this to my FZ6 from 2005. I'm very happy with the results.
