These are excellent mounts at an excellent price. These are just cast aluminum mounts with a nice powder coat on them, so expect some quality control issues for a third of the price of other anodized aluminum parts. It has a matte finish that is very attractive. br>However, unless you have the brains and know-how to deal with issues that arise, I'd recommend going with the mounts that are guaranteed to be good quality but come at a higher price. One of my mounts had no threads, so I had to tap the holes in it. Fortunately, there is an M6 tap with a 1. All it took was a 00 pitch to cut through the soft aluminum and create a usable mount. They got powder coat down in the threads, which is a little silly, but it can be cleaned up with the same tap. Overall, I'd buy these again, but if I needed something that simply worked, there are plenty of other options available for a higher price.

The plastic sleeves have a cheap feel to them, but they're hidden beneath the brackets and do the job they're supposed to do. mostly. I have 39mm fork tubes and found that the sleeves were slightly undersized, resulting in a gap between the sleeve's outside diameter and the bracket. I tightened the bolts all the way, but there was still a gap and the brackets were sagging. I solved the problem by cutting a piece of very thin craft store vinyl to fit inside each half of the plastic sleeve. That made up the difference (maybe 1/64th inch), and I had plenty of clamping force left over. Apart from that minor fitment issue, I think these SMT MOTO headlight mounting brackets are fantastic value for money!.

Design flaws. These were adequate, and it's difficult to find fault with them for the price. On the subject of design, The pinch bolts on the inside may look nice, but they're a pain to get to once they're in place. Too much fiddling with the headlight to get it in the right place, then removing it to tighten the pinch bolts, then reinstalling it and hoping nothing has moved. When designing parts like these, it's important to think about function before fashion.

The chrome finish is nice, and they're aluminum, but the machined area that clamps the tube has a little copper color to it. It is not visible once it has been installed. This is due to the fact that chrome plating is a three-step procedure. Copper, nickel, and finally chrome are the three metals used in this process. br>br> On 39 MM fork tubes, the included spacers are a tad loose. I carefully wrapped the spacers with two single layers of electrical tape after placing them on the fork tube. After that, they were perfectly tightened.

Well-made, excellent service, and prompt delivery. Note that in order to slide the bracket on, you must first remove the shock from the Triple Tree's top. For any DIYer, this isn't a big deal. It was well worth the money. It appears to be in good condition.

The only criticism: Prior to installation, I had to sand the insides for about ten minutes. Because my bike's forks are 41mm, I didn't need the shims (hence the sanding). It's simple to put together and moves well. Other headlight ears cost nearly $300, but these are comfortable and attractive. The duller finish is actually my preference. These were purchased to allow cables from lowered handlebars to pass through the headlight. If I ever want clipons or thinner gauge brackets, I'll be ready. This is a fantastic deal.

For good reason, previous reviewers have mentioned threading issues with the bolts, as well as the bolts' proclivity for heads breaking off. Before the head of one of the bolts snapped off, it "threaded" with an unacceptably high amount of resistance. The threading clearly has an obvious manufacturing flaw. I feel ripped off, but I took a chance on the low price, so don't buy this product.
