Yes, they will fit if your '16 fat bobs forks are factory. The factory front suspension on Fat Bobs is 49mm.
If you didn't have the upper fork covers on, I'm sure they'd fit. They're on a 2016 48 and a 2021 Street Bob for me. They appear to be fantastic!
No, I do not believe that is true. I tried putting them on my stock 49mm dyna forks, but they were too short because the FLH forks have a metal skirt around them. I'm guessing the lowers are too big, so stretch the boots out a little.

Eight. My Harley Davidson Forty-Eight for the year 2016 I wasn't sure these would fit because Eight's fork tubes are 43mm, but after doing some research, I found someone who had tried them and had some success. For $25, I figured, why not? And, for the price, these are incredible quality: soft, pliable rubber with a low sheen. I knew they'd look good in my 48 right away. I didn't have a bike lift or the extra cash to have it done professionally at the time, so I used the cut and glue method instead. That is, I cut the seam on the fork boot, quickly installed them on the fork tube, and then used Loctite Brand Gel Super Glue to re-attach the fork boot to the fork tube. the seam should be attached It only took ten minutes per side, plus a couple of zip ties to keep the top in place. To see that I glued them, you must know exactly what you're looking for. If you want to try this method of installation, I recommend cutting with a brand new razor blade and using Loctite Gel Super Glue like I did. Within 60 seconds, it bonds and adheres to this type of rubber. I glued in small sections from the top of the boot to the bottom, and it turned out beautifully. I may have it professionally done when I get a new front tire in the future, but I think it looks great for now. Take a look at these images and decide for yourself.
These boots come in two different styles. SHORT (49mm) LONG. (Be careful what you order) For my 2010 FXDB Dyna street bob, I went with the short after asking a lot of questions on Amazon and getting a lot of helpful answers. They are exactly what I was looking for and fit perfectly. They're made of high-quality heavy-duty rubber that looks like it'll last a long time, and they're 6 inches long. 5" in length with a little wiggle room for stretching. They'll stretch all the way to the top of your lower tree, completely covering the dust caps. To keep them in place, I used two zip ties. If you have any mechanical ability, installing it is a breeze. Overall, I'm impressed, and I'm glad I didn't have to spend a fortune to change the look of my dyna.
I just wanted to let you know that the short 49mm Biker's Choice boot on my 2017 Fat Bob was perfect. Within 1/4" of the exposed fork tube is the relaxed size. So far, there have only been two rides, both of which have remained stationary. The material is of good quality and has a sticky silicone feel to it. br>After the seal on the bike blew and soaked one pant leg in oil, I decided the bike needed these. Because Harleys are kit bikes, I'm hoping this keeps debris and bugs out of the new seals this time, and that they last longer than 3 years. I believe this is one of the parts to add; the boots didn't come with wire ties, but black ties are easy to come by. Black is a close match in terms of color, but it is also UV resistant, making it ideal for outdoor use.
For these name-brand boots, Amazon had the best price and shipping. They've made a noticeable difference in the appearance of my bike, and I'm pleased with the results.
I'm writing this immediately after installing them, so we'll see how they hold up over time. br>I didn't remove my wheel or other accessories because this is my first mod and I'm not yet at that level of comfort or tool. Instead, I cut the gaiter down the seam, slipped it on the fork, and zip tied it at the top, bottom, and loosely in the middle for aesthetic purposes. br>br>The only modification I made was to snip the bottom ring off just above the inner protrusion. You'll see what I mean, but there's a small lip that extends slightly inward (presumably to grip or tighten the bottom when properly installed), so for my lazy method, I cut just above that and removed about. 5 inches, making it more comfortable to wear and hiding the cut seam.
They're super simple to put together if you know how to turn a wrench, and they look great.
I wish I had done this sooner; it makes the bike look like a piece of junk! In case you're interested, here's a little something else to think about. You'll need to punch (drill) a small hole in the boot to allow air to escape when the fork compresses, as well as a couple zip ties to keep the upper portion of the boot from working its way down the fork as you ride.
It was a perfect fit for my FXDF. When replacing seals, it is simple to install. I used a couple of zip ties to hold everything together. There's no need to make a hole or do anything crazy because the dust seal covers have a vent already. It's simple to push yourself up and check your fork at the same time.
