Questions & Answers

I'm looking for bushings for them, but I can't seem to find any. ?

Shock bushings must be re-used.

Is there a new set of bolts for mounting the shocks to the body included in the kit? (see below for two contradictory answers)?

New shock bolts were not included in mine. I simply used the ones that were already there.

Is this part compatible with a 1998 Jeep XJ?

Yes - That's exactly what I do with it.

Is there a set of bushings included in this kit? or do I have to buy them separately?

There are no bushings included.

The rear stabilizer bar has been repurposed
5/5

When I was removing the rear sway bar from my 1995 Jeep Cherokee, the bolt on one of the brackets was so rusted into the bushing that pressing it out damaged the bracket. br>These brackets were the only thing that came close to fitting the bill. On a drill press, I had to lengthen the mounting holes to make them fit the u-bolt. Other than that, everything has gone well.

Construction of High Quality It arrived in a small box that contained everything it claimed to
5/5

It was a very quick and easy install after removing the old bar pin (recommend cutting the pin with a grinder to remove it). You'll have to use some brute force to get it on the strut's end, but a few minutes of fiddling with it should yield the desired results. br>br>The structure is sturdy. These are definitely going to outlast my jeep.

Eliminator of bar pins
4/5

The bar pin on new HD off-road shocks is loose for easy installation by the user. These brackets eliminate the need for a bar pin and reduce the risk of breaking your Jeep's small 1/4 20 or equivalent metric bolts. The metal bracket appears to be on the thin side, which is the only drawback.

It's up to you! It was a complete waste of money
3/5

Not what I expected, so I installed them, took them off, and never drove my XJ with them. I ended up spending $400 more on longer Bilstein shocks. It made a huge difference.

It's a bad idea to change the shock's orientation
3/5

For the following reasons, it will not work on a 2002 Jeep TJ: br>1) The shocks require freedom of travel in the same direction as the factory mountsbr>2) The travel is severely limited with these bracketsbr>3) The shocks do not line up with the existing lower bracketsbr>4) The shocks do not line up with the existing lower brackets.

These features are not compatible with the Jeep TJ
3/5

The idea of installing rear shock absorbers using this kit appealed to me greatly. Fiasco had been waiting for me - The absorber's upper mount has been perfectly secured. However, I was unable to mount the absorber from the bottom. I haven't been able to give the absorbers the proper position because of the bracket.

The bolts are very easy to remove, so you may need to drill the old
5/5

Because the bolts on the rear bar pins snap off easily when removed, you may need to drill the old bolts out or weld these bar pin eliminators in place. I welded them together and it turned out great. These have a tough finish and can be removed with ease using a cotter/clevis pin setup.
