Yes, they're a 3157, which means they have two circuits as opposed to a 3156, which has the same socket but only one circuit. The 3156 has one filament, similar to halogen bulbs, while the 3157 has two. To summarize, yes, they can be used as a brake and running light.
Yes, the SYLVANIA 7506 White LED Bulb is compatible with the Volkswagen Jetta 2015. This bulb does not require vehicle modification, but some vehicles may require a load equalizer to function properly.

If your vehicle accepts an 1157 bulb, you should be fine. Amazon does not have all of the information.
Selected User Reviews For SYLVANIA 1156 White LED Bulb, (Contains 2 Bulbs)
For the past two years, I've been using and recommending the Original Style of these (Picture Included). This has been going on for three years. In every way, it exceeded my expectations. Never before have I seen a vehicle LED bulb that was so perfectly white, with an even distribution of light and excellent brightness. Unfortunately, Sylvania ruined them by redesigning the bulb. br>br>Unlike the old style, the new design does not provide 360° light output and is not as bright or white; the odd way the LEDs are aimed towards the base of the bulb causes it to glow like a lampshade, and my turn signal enclosure emits a very soft light. The brightness difference between Solid and Flashing is only about 20 which is particularly awful during the day. These are a waste of time and will be returned to you today. I'm sorry Sylvania ruined something that was already good.
My 2014 VW Passat does not always recognize this as a working bulb, as other reviews have stated. When I start the car, a bulb out indicator appears on the dashboard for a few seconds. When I use the bulb (in the turn signal), the same thing happens. The resistance across this bulb was not increased (in comparison to a simple LED) in order to fool the car's bulb monitor into thinking it was still good. Something like this would be expected of a knock-off. SYLVANIA is a generic brand, not a SYLVANIA brand.
These SYLVANIA 1157 LED White Mini Bulbs should not be used for boat trailer brake/turn lights. It does not illuminate the entire housing of the light fixture. Only half of the light fixture appears to be turned on. The top of this light bulb does not emit any light. The light is pointed in the direction of the socket. br>br>Because the socket on boat trailer lights is at an angle, the light fixtures are only half lit in the direction of the tires, and the other half of the light fixtures facing the engine are completely dark. Furthermore, because no light is emitted from the fixture's bottom, the trailer license plate is not illuminated. For a boat trailer running/turn/brake light, the old style that shoots light out in all directions is essential.
They worked fine and are a good size, but they are incompatible with the BMW system that detects burned-out bulbs. It bemoans them on a regular basis. Don't waste your money if the goal was to never have to replace them again.
First and foremost, the 7506R led bulbs you receive are not the same as those shown on Amazon or on the Sylvania website; they appear to be a low-cost version (12 month warranty) of the ZEVO 7506R bulb (lifetime warranty). Second, I purchased two types of led bulbs for my vehicle that were recommended on the Sylvania website. The ZEVOs were one type that worked exceptionally well. These were the second type of bulbs, and neither of them functioned. Even in the same bulb socket where the ZEVOs were installed, there was NO LIGHT AT ALL. Spend an extra $5 to get the ZEVOs. I've experimented with other led replacement bulbs before settling on the ZEVOs for my third vehicle. They can't be beat if they're positioned correctly in the reflector.
It will work for a day after installation, and then my car's dashboard will display a message indicating that it needs to be replaced the following day. After switching the bulbs on each side of the tail light, the bulbs are working properly again, but the same thing happens the next day. Despite the fact that the advertisement claims that the model matches my car, I believe my car does not recognize this led bulb.
Low-quality Sylvania bulbs that look like knockoffs!.
The amber DRL/signals had finally burned out, and the sockets appeared to have been quite hot in the past, so I decided to go with LED. The bulbs have a strong glow to them. But. My 4runner's flasher detects them as an open because they use less current, and it flashes much faster. I've read a lot of articles, and I'm guessing that other bulbs have a built-in resistor to deal with this issue. These bulbs don't work, and there isn't a simple way to change the Toyota's flash. So. If you're a 4runner driver, be wary of what you're getting.
