To create a notch for the light bulb housing tab, but was only necessary to cut a few seconds, and everything else went fine
It isn't clear to me then. It is very easy to remove the light bulb from my eclipse. I just press it into the socket and twist until it comes out. You might find a helpful video online if you do a search.

Please pay attention! They pertain to eclipses that occurred from 2000 to 2002. If it says 2000-2001 on anything you buy, it's a modern product There is no such thing as a 05 for taillights. there was an alteration in the mounting of the taillights sometime between 2002 and 2003. These taillights do not match up with the holes on my 2003 because one of the holes is extra. Also, it has a different setup when it comes to the bulb mounting. This set of lights does not include bulbs. This meant that you removed your old bulbs and mounts and replaced them with these new As for the quality, they felt cheap, but so did the stock lights, so it's no big deal. There are going to be a lot of hard to find blacked out taillights for 2003-2005 There were five eclipses in 2005.
On my 2004 Spyder as known, these required modification, the outside of the taillight fits just fine nicely flush, but the holes for the lights do not have enough notches to fit bulbs, had to remove an extra bolt, and remove extra plactic that keeps it from flush mounting it. After everything is done, they look nice. A torch and a stubby screwdriver are two easy ways to remove plastic, just heat the screwdriver and carve out the parts you don't need, took me about an hour to do it. These cars do not have many options when it comes to taillights. Best of luck to all of you.
Purchased with knowledge they wouldn't fit, but easy to make fit properly with a dremel.
The difference between the stock tail lights and these are that they have a ring of outer glass around the outside of the light, which some might think is silver but that is just the outer glass ring. In addition to loving them, I love how they look with my plastidip What's even better is that they are legal and look good as well!.
I like them other than that. They were on time and arrived promptly. It still seems to work for me. Installation was carried out.
As well as not fitting my son's 03 eclipse it had an extra bolt that I had to take off, and the holes did not line up properly. It wasn't a perfect fit, so I drilled a hole to make it work. The lights had to be pushed in, since the fit was tight. I also had to dremel the sockets for the bulbs to make them work because the sockets for the bulbs did not match. Despite this issue, the lights seem to be good quality and are of good appearance.
It has been 4 months since I bought the car, but now the passenger side housing has begun to fog up. It does not appear to be associated with the bulb gaskets because there is a leak in the seal. While there is no uniformity with the production process on the driver's side, there is an issue with the production process on the passenger side.
While placing the tail lights was a little tricky due to the screw holes not being exactly centered, I managed to do so. It's so great to see them!.
