The bulbs are significantly brighter than the factory-installed bulbs. My first set of HIKARI LED bulbs in 2019 was the HIKARI Ultra LED bulbs, which I purchased with my 2018 Chevy Colorado. It was like night and day compared to the factory. Please excuse the play on words. I can't believe GM would put in such a dim, nearly yellow bulb. They enhance the pleasure of driving at night. br>I made the decision to upgrade and try the new 2021 version, the HIKARI 2021 Acme-Standard-Standard-Standard-Standard-Standard-Standard-Stand X to see if any progress had been made. Aside from the fan/heatsink size, I don't think there's much of a difference. The amount of light that is produced appears to be identical. A separate power module is also absent in the 2021 version. br>However, the overall size is slightly larger, and the dust cover will not fit back on because of this. To get the GM dust/moisture covers to fit over the HIKARI 2021 Acme-style, I had to make some modifications. X H11. The back of the housing was then heated and stretched to fit over the new heatsink design with the help of a heat gun.
I have multiple sets of both the Acme X and Hikari Ultra bulbs, and they are both excellent bulbs. However, in order to remove the external driver, some sacrifices had to be made. br>br>The ultra bulbs perfectly replicate a regular halogen bulb, so the beam pattern is identical to what you'd get if you used a brighter halogen. However, because there are fewer LED chips, the bulb must be operated at a lower voltage than your car's 12 volts. br>br>To address this, Hikari doubled the number of chips on the bulb, allowing it to handle 12 volts without damaging the diodes. However, the disadvantage is that you now have a thicker "filament. " So, because you know how light comes from a point within the housing that isn't the same as where it came from on the halogen bulb, you're slightly altering the characteristics of the beam pattern. This is referred to as "wider light" by Hikari. However, some of that bled light bleeds above and below the original beam pattern, making it less crisp than before. This is a little more of a bother to other drivers, so I had to lower the beam much lower than usual to avoid being blinded by high beams. br>br>They have a lot of color. They're of excellent quality. However, when compared to the Ultra, the light output penalty is negligible in exchange for a loss of beam pattern. br>br>These, on the other hand, would most likely be fantastic high beams.
7 diesel headlight housing (reflector) from the factory. br>br>I've used, tried, and own every model LED bulb Hikari has produced, with my personal favorite being the Eye of Megatron model from 2019, until this ACME-based model. The number one spot was taken by X. br>br>I'll keep this review simple: the bulb produces a great, evenly distributed light with few or no darkspots, and when properly installed, clocked, and adjusted, has little to no glare for oncoming traffic while maintaining the LED effect and the perfect 6000K color temperature. It has exceeded my expectations in every way and has yet to cause me any problems. I would strongly recommend this bulb to anyone, and I would (and will) purchase it again. Personally, I adore it.
The installation ring on the 9005 version of this light can come loose after it has been inserted and locked into place due to a design flaw. The tabs on the installation ring are only held in place by back rubber rings around the outside of the light; there is no set screw to prevent the light from sliding out. We're trying to figure out the best course of action to permanently fix the problem after the light came out of the ring twice since we installed them yesterday. If you're looking for a 9005, you'll have to look elsewhere or at a different model because this isn't it. We'll wait and see what the manufacturer does to fix the problem. If they can provide a satisfactory update, we'll update the review.
Without any form of remuneration, I give my honest opinion. TL; TL; TL; TL; TL; TL; TL; TL; TL; TL These bulbs are bright, light a larger area, are simple to install, and have a lot more blue than OEM halogens (6000K). They also have good cut-off. (Oncoming traffic flashes you very rarely). The fans are barely audible even when the engine is turned off. They are virtually undetectable when the engine is running. The difference between the before and after photos is self-evident. These are something I'd buy again. 6 - br>br>- br>- br>- br>- br month's worth of updates Everything is still fine; however, after a few flashes, I had to lower the driver's side housing a little because it was higher than before. Is it possible that the effects of the deer strike have worn off? (It was originally installed the week after I received my car back. ) ) Perhaps just make more use of them now that it's getting darker earlier? In any case, I'm still very happy with these, and I rarely have to use high beams with them. Due to the fact that it is deer season, I can now see them from a greater distance off the road, which means there will be fewer surprises. br>br>Additional information: It was time to look for brighter headlights than the OEM halogens on my 2016 Subaru Crosstrek after hitting yet another deer on a dark country road, resulting in $6700 in revenue for the body shop. I looked at a lot of different brands and websites for what I thought were unbiased reviews, only to discover that one of the most popular online bulb reviewers (Headlight Revolution) is owned by the same company as some of the bulbs they review (which, unsurprisingly, came out on top at a price of more than $200). The Acme-sponsored Acme-sponsored Acme-sponsored Acme- sponsored Acme X H11's were also highly rated on a number of sites, with GTR 2 ratings less than half that of GTR 2. There is no cost (especially with the $10 coupon). Bulbfacts. com has a lot of useful information as well. It was fairly simple to set up. I had to move a few things to get to the bulbs, but replacing them with OEM halogens would have been the same. There were no error codes and they were ready to use. My low beams aren't my DRLs, so they might not be suitable for that purpose. The ring that secures the bulb in your OEM reflector housing comes off, allowing you to rotate the bulb to get the correct orientation (LED diodes at 3 and 9 o'clock positions) for good cut-off. without causing a glare I'm not convinced that the bulb's friction connection will stay tight, but only time will tell. They certainly illuminate a much larger, brighter area, as I've noticed. You'll notice more reflective tapes on mailboxes and even parked vehicles in people's driveways, etc. For me, this is great because it allows me to see deer and other types of God's creatures crossing the road sooner (sometimes unsuccessfully). I'll update my review if anything else happens. What made the chicken cross the road, by the way? It was to demonstrate to the deer that it was possible.
