The other day, I noticed that the high-mounted brake light on my 2002 Camry had stopped working. I looked up which bulb I needed on the internet. br>I found the same thing for two dollars more at my local auto parts store. Then Amazon informed me that it offers free shipping for the same price as Walmart, but for $2 less. In four business days, I received my package. It was supposed to arrive in three days, but it took a day longer. There's nothing to be concerned about. br>br>I popped open the cover the night I got it. It's very stiff, so I lightly tap it with a hammer to give it a nudge. Lift it up and turn it up once it has popped off. Remove the wire connector by turning it upside-down. By twisting it 45 degrees toward me, I can easily remove the bulb. After removing the bulb assembly from the housing, you'll notice a notch. Remove the old bulb by simply pulling it off after that has been removed. This is the first time in 16 years that I've had to change the bulb. When the old bulb expands a little, it's obvious that it's time to replace it. It was a loose connection the last time my headlight did not turn on. br>br>Open the package and lift the bulb out with a paper towel to prevent any oil from getting on the bulb from my hand. As the internet suggests, do not touch the bulb because the oil will shorten its life; instead, replace the assembly, connect the power, and replace the housing. It's time to put the theory to the test. br>br>I put a box on top of the trunk, directly behind the housing (outside, of course). When you step on the brake, it turns on. br>br>Another task accomplished.
(18 Toyota 4runner)br>White LEDs that are very bright. On my reverse lights, I used them. My backup camera's image became washed out and grainy. I couldn't adjust the brightness/contrast settings on my backup camera far enough to compensate, so I replaced the bulbs with OEM bulbs. If you don't have a backup camera, this is a great feature to have. I'm not sure if it's the way the bulb casts the light or what, but it's bothering me. I couldn't get it to work for me.
The difference can be seen in the image. The reverse lights are all 921, according to Amazon Garage, but call the dealership to confirm; they aren't the same! For each of the four reverse lights, two different types of bulbs are required! br>br>These lights are bright, crisp, and tidy in appearance. Although it's difficult to tell if the bulbs are brighter than the OEM, the color is noticeably better. After one of my regular bulbs burned out, I switched to LED. Changing light bulbs is something I despise.
It appeared on Amazon that it would fit in the back of my Toyota Corolla 2002. I put it on the backside maker light today. It has a larger footprint than the original. As a result, I was unable to turn the bulb's host to the lock due to the bulb's size and proximity to the light cover. By the way, I covered it with a cover, and it now functions properly.
My father has an old BMW X5 E70 with a broken brake light, so I ordered this SYLVANIA 921, which fits perfectly. However, be cautious when removing the light bulbs. I messed up the holes by accident. To repair it, I'll need to use superglue. These light bulbs will heat up extremely quickly for some reason, and you may need to replace them frequently. It is very bright in terms of brightness, and both light bulbs should be changed.
The bulbs will fit in my 2010 Subaru Legacy's backup/reverse lights, but they will only light up dimly. I could tell they'd glow when I tested them after installation, but they weren't nearly as bright as the red halogen brake lights. This doesn't allow them 100% to be used. br>For the record, I read the package and the reviews on this site, and I tried rotating the bulb in the socket, but it didn't help. br>In the end, I returned the bulbs and replaced them with halogens from a local parts store.
This review isn't about the product; it's about the incorrect information that was posted on Amazon. This light bulb is not compatible with a 2010 Lexus R350, as stated. I bought it and attempted to install it using a YouTube video, but the process was too difficult (you have to disassemble the entire back light system and disconnect cables, etc. ), so I waited until the car was due for service and took the lightbulb with me. They aren't the right bulbs for the car, according to what I've been told. I paid $2 in the end. I don't want to be petty, but I believe that products should match their advertising. 00 for the right lightbulb and, of course, $60 for installation (which is not the lightbulb's fault, lol). Now that the return deadline has passed, I'm stuck with this unopened package that serves no purpose to me.
The terminals on this bulb are oriented correctly for my BMW model car. The exposed metal terminals on some other brands appear to be in the wrong orientation and do not function. If you own a BMW, save yourself the trouble and buy these to replace your brake lights.
