Questions & Answers

Is this merely a brake light, or does it also function as a running light when the headlights are turned on?

Just a set of brake lights

Is it necessary for it to be a GT Mustang to fit the vehicle? I'm curious because I own a 2003 Mustang. ?

It'll fit any mustang from the year 1999 to the present. with the exception of terminators, 04

What is the procedure for ordering the black item? In the photos, gray is used to represent a black item, and vice versa. It's a tangle. I don't want to make the mistake of ordering the incorrect color. What's the best way to approach the seller about Block 1?

Get the correct part number.

My pigtails only came with three, not the four shown in the photo. What's going on here?

There were four of them in ours. And there was one that was forcibly shrunk light.

OUT OF THE BOX, YOU LOOK AMAZING! I haven't installed the light yet because I'm still waiting on license plate light covers and bulbs for my 2000 GT
3/5

With the third brake light removed, they are much easier to remove and replace. However, I have put it to the test and it works perfectly. The smoked lens looks fantastic; it's neither too dark nor too light. br>I've read a lot of positive feedback on these aftermarket lights. The plugs do not appear to fit into the original harness sockets, which appears to be the most serious issue. These plugs are extremely snug. Before you go too far with the installation, I recommend watching a YouTube video, such as this one from CJ Pony Parts! br>The plugs are similar in size to the old bulbs, as shown in my photos. It took a little "tweeking" to get them to fit! br>Once I've finished the installation, I'll add more pictures. The 13th of October has been updated. Water does not pass through the gasket provided. I poured a small amount of water onto the trunk lid, which immediately poured into the trunk. I'm waiting for tech support to respond, but I'll most likely just add something to seal around the light in the meantime. 14 OCT. I've been trying to seal this light for a long time now. To create a seal, I used putty-like rope gasket material. Now I see that the lens isn't sealed to the body, and water is leaking into the light. I'm still on hold as of October 16th, waiting to hear from customer service about the lens that is leaking water. I'm considering applying a bead of clear silicone all the way around the unit and allowing it to dry for 24 hours, but I'm not sure if that will work. There is no way to return it! 17 OCT. , I sent another "Product Support" message and left a message on Amazon's phone number. The photos I added barely show the body-to-lens joint; the nut is for scale. That is one of the light's mounting nuts. On both ends of the light, there are unsealed cracks large enough for my fingernail to fit through. OK. 17 OCT. , SPEC- D (K- 2 Motors) returned my call, and after 20 minutes of pleasant conversation with Cassandra (who was extremely pleasant), Spec- D has nothing to do with Amazon! They had nothing to do with this unit! She advised me to get in touch with Amazon. I'll take care of it, skoshi. 19 OCT. After reading my post and seeing how much time I'd already spent on it and deciding that I didn't want the light returned, Amazon refunded my money, which was their idea. I'm going to try to make it work by sealing it with silicone. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

However, this is not a plug The product has a nice design and fits perfectly in the trunk opening
4/5

However, you will have to put in some effort to install the wiring, as stated in previous reviews. It isn't impossible, but it isn't simple. After the bulbs have been removed, the LED wiring plugs, a total of five, are inserted into the original bulb sockets to power the light. The LED connector plugs are slightly larger than necessary for some reason, so you'll need to do the following. Spread the original prongs inside the socket further apart with a standard blade screwdriver, and then squeeze the metal connectors at the end of the LED wiring down with a pair of pliers. At this point, you may need to use pliers to hold the LED connector and gently push it down into the socket. When the connector is properly installed, you will have a sense of it. Install the light in the trunk, but make sure that all of the LEDs are working before proceeding. This is what I installed in a 2001 GT.

It's not the simplest installation, but it's straightforward and attractive
4/5

Spec-Ed had sold me a set of headlights. D and I had previously installed them with my son. I bought it right away when I saw it because my third brake light was very hazy. br>br>Once the piece is installed and functional, it looks fantastic. br>br>However, this was one of the most difficult installations I've ever had to complete (though some of that is due to Ford). The nuts and bolts for mounting and dismounting the third brake light are tucked into the trunk lid's top corner. The nuts on my light were more firmly attached to the bolts than the bolts were to the original light, making it difficult and uncomfortable to reach. The bolts had to be chiseled off and drilled out. br>br>At this point, I started using the led connectors to replace the lights in the original wiring. These didn't quite fit right, and it took a lot of force to get them to seat properly, both by hand and with pliers. I was working alone on this project, so I had to use my toolbox to press down on the brake pedal to see if the lights came on. Two of the leds had to be reseated (after more squishing with pliers), but the final result is far superior to the original.

It has a great appearance and is well-fitting
5/5

It looks fantastic and is the perfect fit for my son's 1999 Mustang coupe. This small piece transforms the appearance of the car for a very low price. Over time, the OEM third brake lights can become unsightly. The car appeared a little shabby due to the fading and "crazing" red plastic. THIS was the answer! There are no instructions included, but there are some "how-to" videos on YouTube. It took me about 30 minutes to install (and I'm not particularly handy). The wiring harness from the OEM light unit must be removed (this is a simple process) and the old harness must be used on the new piece. To make the LED contact points on the new piece fit into the OEM wiring harness, you'll probably need to "crimp" them with pliers or Vise Grips (explained very clearly in the youtube video). Although the smoked color does not match the OEM tail light color, it blends in nicely with my son's dark green Mustang's lid. It looks fantastic.

I'm completely content
4/5

At first, it didn't appear to be a good fit. a little tweaking The item was delivered in good condition. It had a minor scratch on it, but that's not a deal breaker for me. The LED connections that go into the sockets, however, did not fit. I needed to take pliers and clamp down on each metal wire until they were flat. I took great care not to break any metal wires or plastic. They eventually fit after I clamped down on them. When I was finished, I had my wife apply the brakes while I stood back and admired my work as if it were a modern-day masterpiece. Oh, and I had a cold one in my hand as well. It appears to be attractive.

The 2001 Mustang will not be able to use it
3/5

Please ! This item's description needs to be updated. It reads: This part is compatible with the 2001 Mustang. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, and Because the brake light assembly on my 2001 Mustang 3d is broken. br>I've got bulbs, but the connectors aren't the same. This product is only available in digital format. THE CONNECTORS ARE NOT THE SAME.
