Sometimes all you need to do is shave a few millimeters off the end of a small bolt or smooth out a few rough edges. These small files are ideal for such a task. Because they are inexpensive, keeping a few on the workbench or in the toolbox is not a big deal. They're also great for finishing stem trimming if you work on watches. Make no mistake about it - These are rough-finished and won't fool you into thinking they're precision tools. They are, however, quite good for what they are.
My Willys pickup's points were cleaned beautifully with the file. It only took a few minutes, giving me just enough time to realize the truck was not starting because I had forgotten to put gas in it. Oh well. My points, at the very least, are gleaming.
This is a point file, and I only use it when I'm in desperate need of one. There was no other way to file the points on a well pressure switch, and these files saved me from having to buy a new one. They cleaned the points and removed pits like new. These are files that I strongly recommend.
The package that was supposed to contain two files only contained one. It's also thicker than a point file should be, as if two point files were welded together, causing us to pry at them intermittently throughout the day. br>br>Flimsy product that was falsely advertised.
This is how they were made in some unregulated Chinese sweatshop. It's ridiculous. They were returned to China.
When a tool performs better than expected, it's a welcome surprise. This type of file was exactly what I needed to resurface some electric contact points on an old machine, and it worked perfectly. And at a low cost!.
I'm addicted to model trains, and these thin files come in handy at a reasonable price.
For my metalwork, I love these small files. Take a good bite and cut all of my small metalwork with a smooth cut. I recommend them to my students because they are a great addition to my toolbox.
