Yes, it is compatible with your vehicle's model and year. Because it's a dual-fire ignition, you'll need a dual-fire coil to use it. Also, this ignition will use the stock centrifugal advance unit, so be sure to use spark plug wires made for electronic ignitions. If you use the old style solid core plug wires, the ignition will be ruined. Thank you, Rich.br>
It was the perfect fit for my 1994 Softail. If you call Dyna's and ask to speak with a technician, they will be able to help you. When I called, they were extremely responsive to my needs.
It will work with that model, and you can use the dual fire coil in the points style. This ignition is also used in conjunction with the weights' mechanical advance unit. These work great on the early model sportsters that I've tried them on. Thank you very much, br>

A fantastic product at an excellent price! This is a nigh-on foolproof method. It's the perfect ignition system for Shovelheads that don't require a lot of technology to get going. One significant advantage is that the engine can be precisely static-controlled. This unit can be timed (which is impossible with electronic advance ignition systems). Simply place the advance timing mark in the hole, remove and ground a spark plug, turn on the ignition system, and manually advance the flyweights while rotating the ignition plate. The engine is timed when the plug fires. I used a timing gun to check the static timing dynamically, and it was perfect; no more oil in my face! This system is not suitable for Evolution motors because their higher compression necessitates the use of VOES, which this system does not provide. For 7. It'll suffice with one shovel.
This is what I'm going to put on my ironhead from 1974. Installing it was a breeze. It was much easier to static time than ignition points because the instructions were clear and precise. The bike started right up and is in excellent condition.
The bike started right up. It is something I would recommend to anyone.
Personally, I thought the wiring was a little light. . . I would have preferred to see 16 awg wires instead. In addition, the ignition did not include a new rotor bolt. It is necessary to replace it on a regular basis. Will look at the part's durability before giving it a higher rating.
I've used this ignition on a number of motorcycles and have always had a good experience with it. It's simple to install and maintain.
System of ignition is excellent. Installing it was a breeze, and it worked flawlessly.
