Questions & Answers

Do you know if this fits on a 2017 KTM ?

My 2009 KTM 300 works with it, but I'm not certain

What size will this fit on my 2015 450 exc six day? I appreciate it. ?

Thanks for your question. It fits your bike. Thanks for letting me know.

Do you think this will work on the 2015 KTM 250 SX?

Your bike will work with this device, according to the manufacturer.

On my 2003 KTM 640 Adventure LC4, I have a 6 speed. Apparently it does not match my bike, but I do not show my bike on Trail Tech's website, so not sure if they just overlooked mine?

The 640 you have is very similar to the 05 625 on which I installed this product. You might also check ADV Rider, it has been installed on the model you are referring to by someone else. It would be best to avoid the "stealth" model, though. It seems cheap because the case is made of glossy black plastic. In the end, it was the silver model that I chose.

Unit is of decent quality
3/5

Tachometer showing a low reading. Sensors that are completely awful. A $130 ICO is not going to be of ICO quality. Unit is of decent quality. The sensors on the device, and the wiring that goes along with them, have many complaints. 1 .

2. There is no shielding around the wire of a speed sensor The axle is protected from water by a waterproof 'quick disconnect'. Basically, there is no way to avoid corrosion. The second is. If you have a KTM640, you have There is no temperature reading through the water temperature sensor. The sensor is about 5 inches from the header, so if you are idling in a traffic jam you may get false readings (too hot). There is a problem with the wires of the water temperature sensor, so you're going to need to get your soldering iron out. Four point four. When you do get your soldering iron out, expect to spend a lot of time dealing with cables that are poorly designed. Know how a normal cable has a 'string' that gives it a certain degree of There is a 'string' in these cables, but it's INSIDE the insulation, so good luck soldering an extension to it. Note 5. It seems quite slow to me, as I tried four different settings (Tach is disappointingly slow I may need to fiddle with it more) It came in after I switched in gear after 8 repetitions (no improvement), but basically the shift light comes in after switching.

It was a $100 waste of time
3/5

I spent quite a bit of time trying to get this Although I am capable of tearing down and rebuilding motorcycles, I am unable to get this thing to work. Despite the speedo not registering any speed, it keeps ticking. In order to improve the pickup, I tried adding an additional neodymium magnet I don't know. The reading shows about 3k rpm on the readout after wrapping the sparkplug lead 5 times based on the directions. Therefore, I wrapped the pick-up wire in wax paper There has been no change after going up 12x. If I can't find out how to operate the two most basic parts of this unit, there is no way I'll cut into radiator hoses to pick up temp. I would have cut the RPM pick if I had not trimmed the pick When cut down to length, the unit would fit in a box destined for I wasted $100 in time on that.

Excellent news for KTM owners! My experience with it has been one of the simplest DIY installs I've ever had, especially for motorcycles
5/5

Without cutting a wire or causing any harm to my OEM parts, I installed this on my 2005 KTM 625 SMC. This trail tech 022-type tool was used by me The OEB Basic Triple Clamp Mount (which bolted directly to the triple clamp with the bolts my cluster already had) bolted directly on to the cluster. It would be a great idea to purchase both of these I have a very clean installation that looks as if it came from the I am very pleased with the water temp sensor and I can tell when I am warm when riding at night, which is important since I ride a lot at night on the 05 KTM 625 SMC Cluster. A radiator temperature sensor is the only thing that is really difficult, as it depends on where you install it. Putting it on the lower radiator hose forced me to drain my radiator, so I had to do that on my bike. I guess it's not worth worrying about. Although the instructions don't explain all the features of the plugs in clear detail, once you understand what they do, it should be pretty straightforward. Having said that, the only problem I have with it is that the power wires didn't already have the battery terminals attached. If I were you, I would buy it right away. Other than that, I think I would buy it immediately. Trail Tech needs to be integrated by OEM manufacturers.

I ordered this computer and am quite satisfied with it
4/5

I am glad I chose this computer. Despite its light nature, the computer seems like it will hold up well. The only concern I have is whether it has the computing power to calculate everything in "real time", or even if it will lag for a few seconds before everything is calculated. My other problem has to do with the magnetic sensor cable. The bolt on the end, which holds the sensor, can be easily broken. My bike is an older KTM so I had to drill and tap the hole myself since I couldn't find the sensor bolt. But depending on the bike, you might find it in the gear lever. The thing broke in half after just putting a little pressure on it when I wanted to screw in the sensor. install this part very carefully. We are not overly upset about this though, because the trail Tech customer support rep was easy to work with, and we got a free replacement! * Other than that, everything else seems to be fine. There are pretty clear instructions in the kit that explain how to install everything, and the backlight is very strong. In slow, technical, rocky trails, the coolant temperature sensor is really helpful, and will ultimately prevent overheating of the engine. In addition, I think the RPM sensor is a really nifty feature that way I can see how high the RPM's go on my 250 2 stroke, and where the powerband arrives, etc. , etc. In general, a great enduro computer for the money, just be careful when installing some of the sensors if you want to keep it as is.

Technology for the trail

I AM OUTSTANDING A super easy way to hook up. I find the KTM display and modes to be far superior to stock. Look no further than the following Then you'll get what you're looking for. It was also the engine that I used to race Hare Scrambles. A durable product.

It's amazing how speedo works
4/5

To make it work for me, I had to adjust it a little. It's amazing how speedo works. This had to be adapted to work with my 86 En450. The setup process is straightforward. I am still trying to figure out how to set up the tach. The reading is still However, other than that, it is excellent! If your bike is water cooled, also make sure to get one that fits water cooled bikes. By accident, I got it to cool with air. There's no need to break the bank to obtain the water pipe sensor.

As far as cutting the coolant line, my only concern was it being damaged
5/5

I installed it on a KTM 300 EXC in 2000. Nevertheless, the coolant line cut went exceptionally smoothly. My only fear was the coolant line cut, but I decided to go through with it. There have been no leaks. After the switch, I powered it from the headlight circuit. The program works well.
