When I first received this catch can, I noticed that the internal baffle was not secured in any way and would fall out whenever the reservoir was unscrewed and removed. After explaining this to CNPQY, it was discovered that an o'ring, which holds the baffle in place, was missing. They sent me an o'ring right away, and it arrived in China in just 5 days. The quick and easy communication with CNPQY has left me very impressed. I am very pleased with how quickly the problem was resolved. br>br>A few tidbits about the catch: It appears to be well-made, and the hose material appears to be of high quality (no cheap plastic hose here). The o'rings are a little small, which could cause them to wear out over time (competitor products don't appear to be any better). br>However, the valve feature mounted at the bottom of the can, which allows you to drain it without unscrewing it, is one of my favorites. br>Overall, at half the cost of other brands, it's a good deal.
Fortunately, I was able to locate a video of someone installing a different can with a similar bracket on the internet. br>br>However, the most serious problem I have with this seller's product is the way it was delivered. They used the smallest box possible, which required the hose to be folded in thirds. The hose developed two deep kinks that I have yet to be able to untangle. Because a catch can's functionality is based on a vacuum pull, kinks will significantly reduce its effectiveness. Instead of using their hose, I ended up purchasing one from the hardware store.
Ram 5 from 2016. 7 hemi. All bolts and fittings were secured with blue locktite. Using a penastar, cut a plastic line on the tag. 1/2 hoses were used in this project. I haven't installed clamps yet because the previous system installed by Mopar didn't have any. It was sucking oil into the intake system with 45k on it. I'm not racing it, so this seems to work. I'll double-check it at the next oil change. It only has media on one side, which is correct, because you want air to flow into the intake once the oil is dumped in the bottom. Take a look at my photos and copy what you see. Ignore the negative feedback; it does exactly what it's supposed to. My cover, too, is correct. Karen's partner is.
The most serious issue was a lack of instructions. The check engine light came on because I installed the lines backwards. Fittings were double-checked, and lines were switched. The lamp was switched off. So far, everything has gone well.
This is something that the seller should be aware of. In comparison to the diagram, the catch can inlet and outlet have been flipped 180 degrees. Nothing will keep the stainless steel mesh from entering your intake if you install it in the direction that their instructions suggest (which are nearly useless). I'm fortunate in that I have some understanding of how a PCV system works; otherwise, I would not have noticed this. *SELLER* You must address this issue before someone gets stainless mesh in their top end and blows up a motor.
I removed a Moroso unit because it was difficult to disassemble and empty, and it should have more oil catching media inside. I transferred the media from the Moroso unit to this one. There are no instructions, so it's very simple to set up.
Overall, the quality is very poor. br>Hose ends don't fit together, and the valve doesn't close completely. br>There are burrs and metal shavings all over the place. br>It's garbage, and it'll probably let in more garbage than it keeps out.
Overall, the catch can is of good quality. The O-, on the other hand, did not wow me. The ring it comes with is a little distorted, there are no instructions attached, the bolt for the mounting bracket and catch is a little loose (tried tightening, still loose), and the OD of the metal cap that goes at the end of the hoses is the wrong size, so I had to substitute hose clamps.
