Just keep in mind that, unlike the original air box, it is not waterproof. The only thing that keeps water from getting to the air filter is the front grill. Wet air filters aren't ideal, and once they've become too saturated, water will flow directly past the fuel injectors and through your valves. I've had it for a while and haven't had any immediate issues with it. Rain is usually kept at bay by the engine's heat. I do, however, cover the front of my bike when I wash it.
It was a perfect fit for my 2013 model. I don't believe there is much of a difference between the 2011 and 2013 models.
This went on my 2016 Vulcan Custom 900 without any modifications.
It fit perfectly on my 900 custom, and it should fit perfectly on yours as well. It's effective, but you'll need the FI programmer to get the most out of it. Otherwise, you'll be running on fumes.

The "supplied M5 bolt" for securing the air sensor to the mounting plate, as well as one of the three lock washers required to secure the mounting plate to the velocity-sensitive sensor, were both missing. stack. This required a 10-mile round trip. I went to Lowes and purchased the replacement parts for about $5 out of pocket. I had to purchase a pack of four washers from the "uncommon washers" section. The "un- The "supplied M5 bolt" was in a separate pack of four. I'll let you fill in the blanks as to my annoyance. The diagrams and instructions were clear and concise. Out of the box, the intake cover had a small visible nick in the paint. It's not something I'd repaint or remove stars for, but it is inconvenient because it can be seen from a distance of about 5 feet. I'm not a stickler for details, but I do enjoy trying new things. When I buy something new, I like to look at the paint. At this point, I'm satisfied with the product; however, I don't believe the quality control standards were followed in my case, which tainted the experience.
This air intake meets my expectations in terms of performance and appearance. On the one hand, you have the low RPM sounds that you didn't have before because the factory intake was replaced with a more restrictive housing. On the other hand, you'll notice a difference in sound and acceleration throughout the power band with this intake. br>br>This intake is 70-80 cfm. The kit is $80 less expensive than its competitors in the same class, and it includes a crankcase breather relocation kit. br>br>The flat black isn't an exact match for my Kawasaki VN900C SE, but it's close, and the chrome grill conceals a K. N filter. (If you're into that sort of thing, the housing appears to be a good place to put an LED. ) Overall, I think it's a nice-looking, unobtrusive piece that fits well on my bike. br>br>I think adding some instructions would be a great way to improve the product. I also have other "Cobra" items, such as a "2 into 1" exhaust pipe and the "FI-100" fuel injection system. Fuel processor with a diameter of 2000". I'm the kind of person who reads instruction manuals before attempting a task, and I always end up having to re-read them. doing something with the one-page illustrated instructions that are less wordy. br>br>In about two hours, I removed my factory air filter housing and installed this kit, which took an extra hour because I wanted to move the breather. For the breather hose connector on the air intake housing, I needed a vacuum line connection cap. (A trip to the local auto parts store and $5 worth of miscellaneous items)br>br>Overall, I am pleased. Why not a perfect score of five stars? The instructions aren't difficult, but they're lacking in detail. More than the instructions, I learned from a motorcycle message board. Because there isn't a "4 and a Half Star" option, I gave it four stars.
"br>br>Update: Without the help of customer service, I was able to resolve the issue; the product is a 5 star product, but the instructions are a 3 star product. At best, customer service is a one-star rating.
This was installed alongside a Fi2000r powerpro. The bike now has a great throaty chugg to it, and with the powerpro, it is noticeably faster. Although the installation is simple, there are no instructions. Customer service was helpful, but it seemed like someone was tired at the end of the day and couldn't give clear instructions for the final part. It took about an hour and a half to complete the installation tomorrow. By the way, this is a very sleek design. I like how low-profile it is.
I'm embarrassed that I didn't make this purchase sooner during my 2008 Vulcan ownership. br>br>The sound and performance improvements are incredible! Although the instructions are adequate, the installation is simple and takes less than 30 minutes. br>br>I recommend it to anyone who will listen.
You've gotten the advantage of improved performance! Bonuses are always welcome!.
The perfect complement to a classic Vulcan 900 from 2016. Installing it was a breeze. When accelerating, it sounds fantastic on its own. With the cobra exhaust, it sounds even better.
It looks good and is simple to install because it is made of metal.
