I don't usually write reviews, but these have, in my opinion, earned it. My Bassani DNT mufflers have been in the shop for a month due to a warranty issue, and in the meantime, I've grown tired of the old baffleless pipes I've got on it, which sound awful and terribly loud in the wrong way. After doing some research on CFR knockoffs, I came across these on the internet and decided to give them a shot. At $150, why not? br>br>Installation took only a few moments. It only took me 15 minutes to complete this task. To say I was surprised when I installed them on my Bassani 2x2 head pipes and started the bike would be an understatement. These pipes have a fantastic sound! This is how a Harley should sound. br>br>I've heard that the paint on these can peel off, and that may be the case. I don't give a damn about it. I'm wearing long bags, so the pipes are barely visible. If they do, I'll have powder coating done during the winter. They sound far too good to be turned off. Soon, I'll be selling my DNTs.
I tried a few stock Harley mufflers before deciding on something a little louder. I was not dissatisfied in the least! For the money, I'm very impressed!.
The quality is quite good. That sounds fantastic. That is precisely what I was looking for. The powder coat on the right side where it connects to the main pipe is discoloring a little, about 2" of discoloration. Aside from that, the pipes are excellent.
At idle, it doesn't sound very good, and I had to bend some of the flanges to figure it out because it doesn't fit on the outside of my pipes, but only on the inside.
The slip-ons are a great alternative to the "name-brand" footwear. Installing it was a breeze. The sound is nice and deep, just like a Harley should be, in my opinion. It is a fair price. I am extremely happy.
Don't be fooled by the price; you get a lot of bang for your buck. It sounds nice and deep, and it makes me happy.
It was a little difficult to remove the baffles, but with the help of a filter tool, it was simple.
