The edges of the paper aren't frayed since I cut them with scissors. You will notice that the more you handle the cut end, the more fraying it will incur.
As far as I am concerned, it could be used very effectively
There must be a hole through which the line or tube can pass.

The product fit over a 5/16ths SS fuel line and it worked perfectly. Although it expands, it was not enough to go over the flare fittings on the fuel line, so I had to cut one end of the tubing, install the product, then refit it. Bring the end to a sudden halt. In addition to this product, I also installed a heat reflector over the top to provide even greater safety and efficiency. I used it on a Plymouth Flathead from the fuel pump to the carb since it goes right past the exhaust. This is *br.
Quite well made and at a decent price for what it is. I was looking for a shield to protect the brake line of a motorcycle sitting near the exhaust. Unfortunately, the shield does not expand to cover I may still be able to use it after slicing it and tying it up with zip ties although that's not what I was hoping for.
My camper's house batteries are connected to the starter battery of my Tundra via 4/0 electrical welder cable. I couldn't believe how well a 5/8" heat shield fit over the cable. As long as the cable is flexible enough to hold it over, pulling it over was actually easy, but once you tighten it, it's just as if it has always been there. While I did not put it to the test as an abrasion protection, it does look solid enough for the task. This is a very good product.
My two daughters loved this product, it made all their lines look professional, and it helps protect them. I ordered a few so I could try it out, then I ordered two I also liked how easy it was to install!.
The heat shield sleeve is excellent. On my Harley Davidson, I use this on the fuel line. There is a lot of heat coming from the fuel line, which stretches between the cylinders. Heat shield sleeves protect fuel lines from cylinder heat and keep them cool. I used these sleeves over my 5/16" ID fuel lines. I have no problems with it so far.
This function works as expected.
The size of the heat shrinks was far too large.
Especially if you have a lot of heat under the hood, this is a great solution. As someone who works on race and rally cars, there is no need to waste your time wrapping wires with normal wire wrap when you can have the added benefit of heat-proof wires. This feature does expand a bit to allow you to push fixings and other stuff through, but not all.
