Questions & Answers
From the outside engine to the throttle controls, this cable runs. The plug is extremely tight, but it completely seals the hole.
Perhaps later.
Yes, everything is in place from the ignition to the motor. They provided more cable length than I required, but I simply tucked the extra into the hull. Also, while the plug appears to be smaller, it is extremely tight. 100% results for 201979 - 115 horsepower mercury 80.
No, I don't think it'll work; I used mine on an outboard motor. Before you buy, double-check your PIN connections.

The color coding on the wires was spot on. It's of excellent quality. This is not the same harness that came with my 1980 Mariner 85 HP outboard, which used a Sierra 41000 ignition. The only difference is that it has one or two additional wires (i. e. tachometer) as well as a unique plug connector If you're ordering this for a similar motor, make sure to order the matching outboard wiring harness as well. If you don't, they won't be able to communicate with each other. I would have given it 5 stars if the wires and insulation were a little thicker.
I went back to get the same type of harness with an 8-pin connector. I also needed to replace an old remote throttle control, and the most compatible new one had an 8-pin connector, so I chose the harness with the eight pins. This is excellent if you do not require the eight pin. Mercury outboards from 1969 and later years are compatible. My bike is a 1969 650 with 65 horsepower. Built to a high standard.
This is a perfect fit, from the motor to the boat controls. The plug at first looks smaller than the original but it is 100%% The electrical was simple to install inside the boat, and there was plenty of extra wiring that I didn't cut off, instead tucking it neatly into the hull. All of my original electrical wiring was rotting and crumbling into pieces, which is why I needed this harness in the first place. It shorted out to the point where the engine couldn't even start.
This wiring harness was a perfect fit. The smaller wires' gauge is thinner than the original, but it didn't matter because everything worked fine.
I used it on an older model Mercury bass boat, and it worked perfectly.
I also got the best deal I could!.
It's perfect, and I got it quickly.
