That seems to be the case. For over a year, I have been mounting that on the dash of my bass boat. As the connection under the dash is protected from water damage, you don't need to worry about it.

I have the exact same horn button as when I purchased I don't consider it a fancy tool, but it does the job. In a couple of years, the original began giving problems and then it crapped out completely a year or so later. My mistake was that it wasn't great from day one, so perhaps I was just unlucky. At first it seemed as if it contained dirt or something else, and then it progressively got worse before it finally failed. As an act of simplicity, I continued to use this one since I did not want to modify it at all. It took only about 3 minutes to swap the buttons and the new one is working perfectly In fact, it did better than the original one ever did. However, I will tell you how to get that treatment if I don't like it or if it hurts me.

This is junk

There are no marine grade products on the market. This is junk. The season lasted half a year. Upon opening it, I found that all of the contacts are Because there is a hole in the plastic housing for a vent/drain, it's not waterproof. Marine environments are not suitable for this product.

When I installed my button, I haven't been able to activate the horn compressor since late fall. Due to the fact that my boat is kept on the water throughout the winter, I have just covered it for the winter. With the weather getting warmer and I would like to take the boat out soon, I decided I needed a new compressor, so I bought one. Neither the compressor nor the engine was the culprit. It turned out that the old and new compressors worked just fine with an inexpensive wire jumper. Faulty button on the old compressor.

It is easy to install, if you have a decorative cover on your original, keep it, the new one does not come with It was just what was needed, the boat horn is now working
