On my 2018 grom, it looks great, but doesn't last very long.
The answer is yes. There may have been a problem with theirs or they fell out of the box/bag. The chain itself is fantastic - I've been wearing it all the time! It's just a matter of keeping it lubricated! Almost every time I ride, I lube the chain up. This is pretty much what you have to do with these non-O/X rings. Weight savings and some extra power can be gained by this (if you're on a lower power bike). So I see it as a win-win situation If you're racing or doing anything, you might as well take it off.
For my 2009 Yamaha TTR110, I decided to replace my old rusted chain with this Pro Taper 420 gold chain. A protective wax coat was applied to the chain, along with a master link for security. 420 chain breaker can also be found on Amazon, which is all that is required to install the chain. I liked how well the chain fit and how the gold color added a touch of character to the bike.
My only complaint is that the gold color is not true to the attached image, it is still worthy of a 4 star rating, however, since I chose it specifically due to color, I dropped it from 5.
I'm not sure how durable this chain will be on my motorized bike, but it looks to me like it's very durable and simple. The Master Link was at the bottom of the box the chain came.
