Buy this product and DO NOT get ripped off! The tool and clamps are worthless, and the tool cannot be used again or again. The shocks on my 2017 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro have a long travel suspension. It was time for me to rebuild the CV joints, so I needed some tools and I had to go to a local shop to borrow a quality tool because my current tool is trash. Crimping the clamps with this tool is not evenly distributed and there is a great deal of play in the tool. There is literally nothing to recommend about this, and the clamps don't help matters either. My next order will be better clamps that use the banding twist style tool after I finish writing this review. As a rule, I don't write reviews, but this kit was causing so many issues for me due to its lack of quality that if I can spare even one person from spending their time and money on this inferior product, I have.
had never used a device like this before, so I had to spend a little time figuring out how it worked. The first thing you'll notice is that it won't grab the sides of the band and pinch them right out of the box. They no longer require tightening due to the fact that the block extends too far for these to be effective and they fall off as soon as you grasp them. During my research, I came across Models were looked at in order to see how it was actually supposed to work, and the problem quickly became apparent. I fixed this issue by grinding down the middle block a little while using my bench grinder. This gave the 'pinchers' an allowance for reaching far enough to grasp each side while squeezing. The new seal created a very tight seal on the CV boots I was servicing after I made this change. As to its durability, I'm not sure. It feels like the tool itself might break if you use it constantly, so I'm not sure how long they will last. But it's one of those tools I only need to use once.
The purpose of this was to re-examine Here's what I did after I modified the internal race on my factory OEM axles. For two of the bands I mishandled the tool, with this tool it is not necessary to crimp the band super tight, instead it is important to take up as much slack as you can before crimping the band. Even though I was trying to pull it super tight, I couldn't get it to You should crimp the end after it is pulled tight. I am very satisfied with the results.
I couldn't use the Axle Boot Clamp Pliers as they came from the package. As a result, my first two bands were ruined because it was misaligned and was stamped with poor quality materials. In spite of being bent and filed, the pliers were not very effective, but with care, they did the job well. In my opinion, this is a one-time use tool that must be modified if it is to be useful. I had no problems with the Crimp Bands.
My ATV requires axle boots to be reconditioned. I purchased this to do so. Exactly what I was looking for. Although I thought it would be cheap and flimsy, the tool is actually quite good. As for the clamp, it's still holding up fine.
The quality of your purchase is determined by the price you pay. It does the job, but the tool is pretty cheap quality. However, the price is not as cheap as it appears. The quality of your purchase is determined by the price you pay.
It was not the first time I had seen these, but I didn't have the right tool to implement The original style should be used.
