You can use it to replace all your crank rings with one set. Based on your middle ring command, I'm going to assume that Unlike the center gear, it's not meant to be replaced just by itself. The product facilitates the conversion of a 3xX bike to a 1xX bike. My narrow wide bike currently uses an XT crank and I used a spacer kit to make it work. Assuming the same will be true for XTR, I'm not sure if it will be the same or not.
As far as the gears go, it works with an 8 speed chain if that's what you're interested in, but there's no substitute for an ideal setup of 10 or 11 for this
For a single chain ring, you will need chain ring bolts
Both the 9 spd and 10 spd can be achieved with the tooth profile. The Trek Remedy my wife and I ride currently has a 1X10 setup with a Shimano chain

The 1x10 drivetrain sounded like something I would like to try. The Trek Fuel 9 is my bike for the 2011 season. With the 3x10 11-inch format, size is 0 26'' The cassette is 36 teeth, and the cranks are Shimano XT. A chain ring with three links has never been enjoyable to me. The middle chain ring (If I had a nickel for every time I nicked my knuckles cleaning it) is damn difficult to clean and I was tempted to grind my teeth at it. I really disliked the need Sometimes it was confusing for me to know what A friend of mine suggested we go to one of our local LBS to upgrade to a 1x10. In addition to new cranks, a new chain ring, chain guide, cassette, and clutch derailleur (I must have looked incredibly confused), I was told to get a new cassette. Fortunately, Youtube and all of the helpful YouTubers are there to help us. On my favorite riding trails, I tested which gears I could live without while riding my bike. After evaluating several options, I settled on the Race Face NW 30T for my 11-inch MacBook There is a cassette with 36T. Moreover, I disassembled the front derailleur (free at last) and removed the chain rings and few links from the chain. The RF chain ring was installed with new bolts for the single chain ring. There is already a shim on the 30T chain ring and the thread is already fitted This was a breeze for me as a complete noob. It was like having a new bike for well under $50. I rode the same trails and wow, it was like having a new bike. The game is smooth, simple, fun, and there are A great upgrade I have ever made. In the future, I will be able to get bigger chain rings when I am stronger. In my opinion, it has a lot of style points as well.
I did not want to have to swap out my rear derailleur or cassette, so I chose the 30t chain ring to give me almost the same gear coverage as a 3x10. In my experience, there will be some hill climbs that will be tough in the lowest gear, but the simplicity and cleanness of the 1x10 setup is well worth the extra effort from time to time. As of 2012, I ride a Trek Fuel EX 8 bicycle, which was equipped with the standard (at the time) 3x10 system. There is something I haven't been able to do The rear derailleur is Shimano XT clutch and the chain is an 11-speed The cassettes are 36 in number. I have never been able to justify ripping out perfectly good parts in order to convert to 1x. Since I haven't been mountain biking for the past couple years, I stepped into a local shop last week to test the waters. There is a 1x11 gear ratio on all of the new bikes, and I was very impressed by this. The crank on my bike started creaking and my front derailleur began acting up, so I figured it was time to overhaul the crank and I converted to 1x10 to save myself the inconvenience of having to change my front derailleur. My decision to go with this chainring was made after a search for the cheapest and simplest option for getting 1x drivetrains. After I removed the stock deore crank, I gave it a good deep clean. Chainrings are fairly simple to remove, so I did that. Rather than buying a special tool to hold the back side of the chain ring bolts (I have enough single-use tools so I avoid buying them whenever possible), I used the conventional tool. The Race Face chain ring is a good piece of equipment in its own right. A great deal of attention has been paid to the machine work and it is extremely There is nothing too over the top about the graphics on the red anodized version. Then you can install With the 32t), you will almost certainly have to remove your crank in order to put However, my graphics could only be installed with the "Race Face" graphics facing out, even though I wanted the plain side facing Bolt holes on the crank are perfectly aligned with the raised bolt holes. 4 of the stock bolts, which I removed earlier, could be reused as well. It wouldn't have been necessary to buy longer bolts since I didn't want to purchase extended ones. It took me a couple of minutes to install the crank, shorten the chain a bit (I think it was about 2 or 4 links) and I was ready to ride.
The first time I rode this, I was blown away at how much chain slap had significantly reduced as well as other drive train noises I had grown accustomed Despite the fact that I do not have a clutched derailleur, the chain has not come off or slipped yet. In spite of riding a lot of single track with roots and rocks, the chain stays in place. There will be a little bit of chain noise when you get into the largest or smallest cog in the back, but that is normal. As well as choosing the 30t, I am happy about it. An online gear ratio calculator helped me figure out that I was only losing two gears at the top and one at the bottom. The bike I have is a lot cleaner and simpler than those, and I can live without them. Overall, this is a great piece and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is The fact that I could upgrade from 1x to 1x for $40 blew my mind, and I am so glad I did it.
A total of 5 bikes will be available Setup 42) of the XML template. Despite its 27 horsepower, the bike is not a speed demon. A 32T would be too tall of a gear for someone who just started out since she has a 5" wheel. There are basically three gears 32T up front, 42T down back, and 27T in between. It has 4. 75" tires, so her first gear was about equivalent to somewhere between 3 and 4 on her old 26" bike. I grabbed this 30T which dropped it to 2nd gear on her old bike. The cool part is that this bike has an 11 speed cassette and 27 gears! Her 11th gear is still taller on her fifth wheel than her middle chain ring was on her old bike. There is only one catch to be aware of, the 32T could slide off of the crank without needing to remove it, but the 30T has a smaller inner diameter and I had to pull the crank off from the back side. This meant I needed to buy the Park Tool CCP-6. As Raceface's cranks are press fit on, you'll need to remove your crank before you install it since they do not self extract like the FSA cranks on my bike do. If you can't remove your crank, ensure you have other means of doing so.
This is what you need if you want to convert 3x9 to 1x10 or 1x11. My full suspension mountain bike is ridden on technical single trails, and I use this chain ring to do so. On 26" wheels, the bike has 100mm of travel on the front and rear and is a 2010 Intense Spider FRO. used to be a 3x10 before. Due to a lack of clearance between the front derailleur and rear triangle, this bike has always had problems with the front derailleur. For the cage to avoid rubbing on the rear triangle, I actually had to grind off a part of it. Removing the derailleur and replacing it with this ring has given this bike a new lease on life. After removing the original 3 rings, this 1x has fit my 2010 RaceFace Next SL crankset without any problems, and has performed flawlessly since then. This is a highly recommended book.
The gear is manufactured from aluminum of high quality, and it has been Since I switched to this gear, my chain has not dropped anymore. The narrow wide tooth pattern seems to hold the chain on my drivetrain. As someone who rides mostly downhill single track, this chain ring has seen a lot of action. The fit was perfect, and the performance was excellent. It is never a disappointment when it comes to Raceface. This review was written in the hope of helping you make their shopping decisions.
