Selected User Reviews For Thorstone 13pcs Chain Breaker Set,Chain Cutter and Riveter for Motorcycle, Bike, ATV
There are four things to do break a link on a 530 chain, remove the old chain, install the new chain, and rivet the new I have completed the task! I have found this chain breaker to be wonderful. The device does its job well, but it's not indestructible. I found the value for money to be excellent. It is convenient to have a small compartment case.
Taking the negative reviews more seriously would have been prudent. In addition to not having instructions, the device broke on its very first use, which greatly increased the possibility of user error. This type of chain break tool is exactly what I looked for in instructions, and the pin I used is the right size, too. There is a lack of strength in the pins. An attempt to break a 525 chain led to a bent chain.
This product was not a cheap riveting tool like all the other cheap riveting tools out there. Pay what you want and you will receive what you want. My backing plate anchor was stuck in the press. I was able to remove it from the plate using the pliers. It is more economical to buy the more costly rivet tools so you will save.
It is inferior to harbor freight quality tools. It is easy for pins to bend and for c clamps to seize. Only partially useful after I removed the OEM chain on my KTM 390 Duke, so it's more or less a one-time use tool. When it comes to this tool, you get what you pay for, so don't buy it unless you like flushing money down the drain for soft.
It completely broke the first time it was used. Despite making sure the pin was the right size and having everything set up correctly, it snapped before it even began to push the pin out of the.
With this tool, I was able to pop the metal rivets out of the old chain, however the thickest pin broke on the first rivet, even though I was able to remove it. I can now see why most chain tools are so expensive. I got the second one out after getting the first When I went to press on the new plate on the new chain and it wasn't putting even pressure, I noticed that the whole tool started bending. To our dismay, we discovered the tool was severely bent and we are unable to install the new master link.
All the parts you need to repair your motorcycle chain are included. The rod they give you for turning the tool is not designed to be used with actual hand tools. In any case, it does the job, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who needs to change the chain on a motorcycle.
The first time I attempted it broke.
