On my 2020 grom, I used just the right amount of gear reduction to improve acceleration while preserving top speed. The engine couldn't pull the factory gear ratio because it lacked torque. This is the kind of gearing it needed. You'll be able to maintain a higher rate of acceleration up hills.
It says it won't fit 2022 Honda groms on Amazon, but it fit perfectly on mine. I also have a 31t aftermarket rear sprocket (rather than the 38t stock on 2022), so the 13t front with the 31t rear (2. The 15t/38t (2. 3846) gives me a slightly faster top speed than the 15t/38t (2. 3846). Stock setup (number 5333). However, by reducing the radius and mass of the rear sprocket and shortening my chain by four links, I was able to reduce the total rotational mass of the drivetrain, allowing torque/power to be available to the wheels for acceleration that was previously lost due to simply spinning up the drivetrain. It isn't much, but it is a start. When doing this on some bikes, you may get a 0 as a result. On a good day, the Honda grom has 9 horsepower, so it's a 5-star rating. 10 increase in in in in in It saves money on gas in either case. However, I would strongly advise you to take this path. Even if you want to stick with the stock gear ratio, 13t/33t (2. 5384), which will reduce the overall rotational mass and reclaim some of the lost mass. br>br>However, it is a gear. What more do you require if it fits correctly and is made of high-quality alloy?.
From acceleration to the top of the rev range, 14T has made a significant difference in performance. The bike felt more aggressive and was a lot more fun to ride as a result of the mod.
260 pounds, 10 years old I then bought the sprockets primarily to improve low end performance for pit bike shenanigans, and I tried the 14 tooth with great performance all through the gear range and actually gained about 5mph more than usual on top end, which was about 52 with the exhaust and tuner, and then I switched to the 13 tooth only to find out it was perfect and actually gained another 5 mph to get up to 63 so far just messing around in the neighborhood. This is by far the best mod for the grom so far, and it only cost a few bucks.
The game has been completely changed. I'm 230 pounds with a full tuck and stock speeds of 62 mph downhill. It cruises at 60 mph with the 13t sprocket. Every gear seems more peppy, and 4th doesn't seem to be sleeping any longer. 64 right under redline with no issues. The best mod you can make for the least amount of money!.
The Pros: br>br>The Pros: br>br>The Pros: br>b Throughout the RPM range, it truly 'wakes up' the engine. In particular, 4th gear is now more functional, whereas before, the power was flat and hampered acceleration in the middle of the RPM range, as well as bogging down on inclines with the stock gearing. The former has been corrected, and the latter has been greatly reduced. The Drawbacks: br>br>
This modification will increase the accuracy of your speedometer (and thusly odometer) by indicating a roughly 7% faster speed than your actual speed. If either of those effects bothers you, you can correct it with a speedometer calibrator (around $80). All-inclusive br>br> All in all, a LOT of 'bang for your buck' for an installation that takes less than 10 minutes. It's just as simple to revert back to stock gearing if you don't like the results.
This does not fit my stock 2019 Grom, as far as I can tell. The sprocket's ID is fine, but the cogs on the shaft don't have enough clearance. I contacted JT Sprockets, and they confirmed that this part should fit my motorcycle, but the one I received does not. Although the JT252 is supposed to be too large for the 2019 Grom shaft, mine fits perfectly (no play). So, either the two different parts aren't made correctly (unlikely), or a stock 2019 Grom (mine) has larger cogs on the shaft than expected.
Works greatbr>I used the 14t on my 2018 to make wheelies a breeze while it was still stock. br>br>On the grom, stock is 15t. br>In the front, going down one equals going up three in the back. br>br>If I need to switch to a 16t or go to 13t, I will definitely buy from them again.
