took the risk to see if the parts would fit by purchasing the universal clutch kit first, as it was less expensive than the universal clutch kit. It turned out to be a good idea. The clutch cable won't reach the apes on my 06 Honda Shadow Bobber, so I installed 14" apes. It's pretty hard to reach the throttle cable, so I'm buying this kit again to replace it. With plenty of parts, you can use the kit for multiple applications. In my stock cable, I used the nylon sleeve to grab the brass barrel end and slid it on with the nylon sleeve. Furthermore, I reused the stock bolt piece inserted into the cable to maintain tension since it was already black and bigger in size. Installation is quick and easy. We had no problems with the soldering. Finished the other end by crimping it. Rather than routing the cable as well as finding pinch points, I spent more time looking for them. Parts that were left over were saved. It's never too early to prepare for a time when you'll need something. This kit is great!.
I am doing a raptor 660 engine swap with a different motor and this kit is perfect. I first made a throttle cable with bicycle tubing that is the same diameter as the galvanized tube I had trouble turning the throttle and it stuck wide open for long periods of time. It is noted in the kit's description that the cable is a stranded cable and I have found that strands that are stranded this way are much more flexible because of the way they are made. Youtube videos on how to solder cable ends worked the first time. Placed a 1 on the end. You must do it five times. A small screw driver was used to ease the cable end into a 4-inch opening. Then I dipped it in acetone to clean, melted flux, dipped the cable end in it, and dipped it into and out of the lid full of I clamped the cable end in a vise and pulled very hard on it to secure it. Additionally, I did not have to attach any cable ends because one end of the kit cable had a small cable end pre-attached and I was able to use one of the cable ends in the kit package for attaching cable ends. We tested the twist grip throttle and found it to be as good as This kit has been very helpful to me. When something is easy to use, that is nice.
Since I've never created, repaired or even performed any work on a cable before, I was skeptical about buying this cable. As I put my skills to the test, I found that after a few attempts at doing and redoing, I was able to get this working perfectly! There is only one downside to this only one nut is included on the adjustment portions, but other than that it was pretty much everything I needed, and while I had to do some custom fitting to make some parts fit, it looks great. Since I had never soldered before, I made a few mistakes but it was extremely simple to fix after. Just make sure you do not leave too much slack to make mistakes and redo it later if necessary. A 60/40 solder is ideal because it seeps into the cables and locks them in place! I will definitely purchase another to build and have a back up. This is a HIGHLY RECOMMENDED product!.
I was thrilled that the inline adjuster accessory was available to compensate for uncertainty Needed to heat silver solder in a crucible, and it worked the first time (see YouTube). I used a torch to heat the female end of a 1/2 inch socket extension, which worked as a crucible. Clamp the male end of the extension in a bench vise to stabilize its vertical position.
It is such a must-have for riders of all levels. The clutch cable kit that I have previously purchased and installed is so much easier to install than the one I have recently bought. Because of the nipple, the solder completed the cable much easier than the previous one, and I am not sure why, but I loved it. Those who used this kit said the cable tensioner was the best thing about it. Having the clutch kit with this would have taken the worry out of having to be 100% precise with the cable length, so it would have made my life easier. It will take some time to see how these kits hold up, but if anything is out of the ordinary I will update as soon as I can.
A 1978 MG Midget's throttle cable was broken, so I bought this cable to replace it. My MG parts supplier's version had no Teflon lining and was always pulling as it was not teflon lined. I was so glad I found this cable kit in place of the one I had used before. I was satisfied with the fact that all the parts I needed were included. The tips of the cable can be soldered to the cable by cutting to length.
It was the first time ever that I made a throttle cable. I have only ever used a cheap Radio Shack soldering iron with 60/40 solder, which was quick and easy to use, contained all the pieces I needed, and was not difficult to set up. I would recommend it to anyone. It is my intention to buy a second set for backup purposes. The recommended choice!.
