Would it be possible to remove the cable housing and cable from the controller to install on a cub cadet from the 1960s?

Almost anything is possible, provided there is a lot of work put into it Pressed into place on the lever control, the cable housing is attached. The cable must be removed, and the housing must be cut Replacing the cable will solve the problem. If I were you, I would go somewhere else.

The Harbor Freight Engine was converted into a Horse Tiller using this device
5/5

Using this cable as a replacement for the stock cable on a Troy-Bilt is an excellent idea When re-installed, the Horse Tiller is bilt Utilizing a Harbor Freight 212cc engine as the source of power. Because the throttle controls come out of the pull-string, the untiler does not need to be disassembled. If you wish to use the tiller side of the engine, you will have to use a longer cable than the one originally delivered with it. Installing the unit is a breeze because the mounting holes are the same size.

As far as I could tell, the lever was too tight to move
5/5

It turns out that I was incorrect. The handle on the cable was moved when I removed it from the box and the cable was then moved. After mounting it I tried moving the handle, but I was unable to do it. I mounted it again, and then I figured out how to move it. After those adjustments, the surface was smooth and there was just enough friction to hold the object in place. Due to its size, it had to be cut as it was too long for my application. I connected the other end to the carburetor once it was cut, and voilĂ , my mower was now able to be controlled by my steering wheel. I intend to replace the mower before this throttle control wears out, so I have low expectation of having to replace it soon.

This is the perfect size for my new Troy Bilt horse tiller engine
5/5

I installed a new engine in the old horse model. There is no longer enough length in the existing throttle cable to fit the new engine. I read another review mentioning using the cable for the same purpose. I loved the cable. It was exactly what I needed, it was the perfect length and it works perfectly. This is a highly recommended book.

The steering wheel of my 30 year old mower was replaced due to a broken lever
5/5

You can see my attached picture of the throttle when it is installed on my lawnmower. Despite the fact that it isn't the prettiest thing in the world, it is a highly functional device. A few remarks I'm sorry,

I liked that the conduit was of good quality, the throttle controls fit in it easily - The throttle control wire will have to be cut to fit, this was an easy job. Pull back the throttle cable, cut conduit, and slide the control wire back into place. Easy to do. The following *br There can be an adjustment to the throttle 'drag. The locknut can be tightened or loosened as necessary to adjust the tension, so the bolt stays in place as desired. The adjustable drag is a great feature. Overall, it's easy to install, easy to cut to fit, and it's also easily adjustable. It's fine with me!.

I am extremely pleased with the It is very well designed
5/5

Despite its ugly appearance, it does the job very well. There are several nice design features on this product. It's well made and looks great. Although it could use more style, it is likely to last for a very long time in terms of functionality and (expected) durability. The degree of control you have over it when it comes to adjusting it to your application was what I really liked about it. It is possible to adjust lever "drag" (resistance), the cable length, and the distance to be thrown. I found having the wound metal jacket to be ideal for my application -- One of the last ones I bought.

Throttle like you used to do in the old days
5/5

Having experienced several failures of the newer style throttle arrangement, I replaced them with this tried and true setup-
The handle works great, and you can adjust the length with a thin disk on a grinder to your exact specifications. If you intend to cut the cable or sleeve, do not attempt to do so This should be of some assistance.

Using a Z-installed nicely to complete the installation A wire stop for the dog legs Here's the link
5/5

It may not win any awards for aesthetics, but it is unbeatable in terms of I had two broken handle assemblies on Craftsman "My Stride" mowers that use a lever bar enclosed in brittle plastic controls. That means I had to rip all that off and find something else that would work for the tractor throttle. I didn't want to miss this! Although the cable is a little longer than the stock cable on the mower, the slack was taken up by routing the cable across the top of the handle (see the Although shortening the cable would have been possible, I didn't want to mess with it. Also, the position of the final mounting is very convenient (see picture). Using a Z-installed nicely to complete the installation A wire stop for the dog legs Adding a throttle cable assembly to the top of these components is what will give you a reliable mower throttle!.
