Can this be used to bring the steering wheel closer to my body, I am looking for a hub that will let the steering wheel get used to my hands again?

As far as the steering wheel is concerned, it does bring it closer, but if you are looking to maximize that you can add our deep dish steering wheel and it will help even more. Please let us know if this helps. Thank you.

There is only one complaint I have, which would be its taper. Once the stock steering wheel was removed for the first time, it was very easy to remove. It is quite difficult for me to remove the steering wheel adapter from the new steering wheel. For some this may not be a problem, but for me it was an inconvenience. The fact that many might consider it more as a safety feature than a detriment is not enough to knock a star off.
