The 2021 Kawasaki KLX 300 SM has the kit installed. I would like to provide a brief overview of the installation process. Note the perfect match of blue to the bike. The installation went fairly smoothly. It chose to spot weld the traditional Japanese bar weights inside the bars instead of installing them into the end caps. Grinding out the three spots welds that hold the bar weights in place and removing them will eliminate the weights. There will be a quarter-inch reduction in each end when this is done. If you want to drill and tap the bar weight to 8mm x 1, that's an option. The thread count is 25. In order to drill the hole out of the weights it will be necessary to size the drill bit one size larger than the tap's recommended size. Metal in the weight has a gummy texture, so you must be careful when tapping it. For this project, you will need 8mm x 1. Cap screws with a flat head and a 30mm length. After installing a number of similar handguards on various motorcycles, I can conclude that installation of this set was as smooth and straightforward as those of the It is a very high quality product. I would highly recommend it.
The guards fit my son's bike very well and installed in about 30 minutes with simple tools. The metal plates seem very rigid and are about 3/8 of an inch thick, yet do not add a great deal of weight to the sculpture. As well as being very well packaged, the guards were also very well constructed. During some tight woods riding, my son said he dropped his bike four times and both his hands and the bike were protected. As a result, the brake and clutch levers are bent more, but they are now protected and covered. The headphones are loved and are working well for him.
In order to adjust the bench vise, I used a large adjustable wrench and a decent vise. You are likely to have trouble getting this to work if you do not have such tools. As long as you have basic tools and a half hour or so to devote to installing them, you can use them on most bikes. The easiest way to do this is to not look for a kit that has an extra swivel that you can adjust in the middle of the mount, making it so you only need to bend, which you can likely do without any tools. Some tools are required to achieve the extra twist. The installation requires more effort than expected so the star has been docked. The rest of the purchase is satisfactory.
To prevent the lever from breaking when the bike tips over, these plates were put on a brand new xr650L motorcycle. I had trouble installing them on my 84' Lexus. The curve of the guard on the left side (clutch side) didn't line up with the mounting hardware no matter what angle the mounting hardware was mounted. It took my friend and I a few minutes to torque it and align it I don't like the cheap feel of fastening hardware. As far as their quality goes, the handguards themselves feel strong and look excellent. I was happy with the way my right hand installation went. There is no complaint about the price, but the manufacturing process could be improved in order for this to fit better.
They arrived quickly and were It appears to be a very good Hand guards appear to be the same style and quality as more expensive models. It does not come with instructions. We could not figure out the best way to install them without interfering with the lever movement for clutch or brake. I used the free return offer from Amazon to return the item.
Since these are made of cast aluminum, they will break after a single collision, unlike better guards that can be bent back into shape after being crushed. As I worked on my bike, I dropped it and these did help save my levers. However, when I tried to bend them back, they broke. I have tusk guards on my dirt bike, which are better than anything I have a tusk guard on- Over time, you'll save a lot of money.
For the price, the handguards are a good deal. To install, it will take you about 15 minutes. The process takes twenty It's convenient for me to not interfere with the cable of the break or clutch with the way the handlebar clamps are designed.
Other hand guards can cost as much as 100 $ when you only put 4 letters on them to spell the word T_ _ k. Just for the sake of having name brands in your selfie pictures to impress your friends, that is just outrageous.
