Is this a single rotor or a set of two? I'm hoping for a pair, because no one can replace just one. ?

They're sold in singles, like most rotors. However, I agree that they should be replaced in pairs at all times.

Is it necessary to turn these before using them?

They'd be turned in my direction. They will, at the very least, confirm that they are not distorted. Mine appears to have been bent or warped in transit.

In the span of ten months, the world has been turned upside down

The rotors were fantastic at first, but after ten months, they had warped. I installed these, as well as new pads, on a Taurus that is only used for commuting. The car is driven as if it were an elderly lady, and the only (somewhat) hard stop is exiting one of the freeways. Based on all of the positive reviews, I was a little disappointed with this product. This brand did not meet my expectations, but I suppose you get what you pay for. I'll be using EBC brakes again.

This was a great investment! When I applied the brakes to my Lincoln Continental, I experienced a slight wobble

The previous rotors had become warped over time, as all rotors do, so rather than having them turned straight on a lathe at a machine shop, I decided to purchase new ones. These rotors appear to be in good condition; I've driven them for about 8,000 miles and have had no problems with them. br>br>Braking performance is good, but I'm not sure how much of that is due to this particular rotor or how much is due to the new higher-spec brake pads I installed at the same time. br>br>I'd definitely recommend this rotor as an affordable replacement for a stock brake rotor that is either too worn down or warped!.

There is no need to remove the coating before installing because it is not coated

When I replaced the pads, the shaking became even worse. I got these for about the same price as having my old rotors turned at a local shop, with free delivery. There was no longer any trembling. Thank you very much!.
