As of right now, the fifth star is given because they fit perfectly (2001 Polaris sportman 400), they also fit a lot of other models from that era. Sets for both the front and the back of the vehicle were contained in the box. The total is three sets (3sets). These pads appear to be made of the same materials. My next update will be after some riding time and a check of On a 17 year old machine, I did not expect them to perform like EBC pads, but for the price, the quality was adequate.
With 50 miles on the clock, the rear was gone. The other day, while installing wiring for a winch, I happened to glance at the brake caliper and was shocked to see that it was gone. In less than half a year, I've only been out on this trail twice, and there's almost nothing left and it has been metal on metal for some time now. The fronts are only half in need of repair. The rear of my vehicle will be equipped with some heavy duty EBC EBC.
There is need to grind the tabs on the front of these pads before they will fit a 98 sportsman 500.
Luckily, no one has crashed the 4 wheeler into a tree yet and it has stopped squeaking, so it seems to be working fine.
The price is excellent. So far things are going well. I will do the rear brakes later. Front brakes fit perfectly.
If zero stars were possible, that's why these brakes would get one - they didn't last a day on a flat Indiana road! My atv brakes wear out very quickly, but not even after a day of use.
This seems to work for the trail boss.
The fit was perfect and I had no problem putting it on.
