a driver or something minor to assist Two bolts, one at the top and one at the bottom, are used to remove the shell. I couldn't easily access the top bolt because I didn't have the right small tools or anything 90 degrees. I simply drilled out the factory shell and installed the key lock. It looks and performs admirably. Due to the difficulty of the top bolt (2021 Ryker Rally), I'm deducting a star.
It's difficult to take the cover off. It is difficult to access the top screw. I found videos on YouTube that showed how to remove the bottom screw, drill the original cover, and install the lock. That's exactly what I did, and I now have a spare cover.
It's a pain in the neck to get that top screw, but once you do and this bad boy is installed, it's well worth it because no one can mess with your bike anymore. To get this one out, you'll need a torque 30 screw and socket, as well as a lot of patience, but your bike will thank you. I'm not docking points for the difficult process because that's to be expected with Can- Am Riker, do you have to buy all of the cool stuff separately, and it's usually a pain to install it, so it's part of the deal, but it's worth it.
Excellent product; however, the silver emblem on the keys would be preferable to the black. Drilling is not required, and installation takes only 5 minutes.
I ended up opening the whole on the original part because changing it without lifting the whole body to get to the top bolt was too difficult.
It really works. The only criticism I have is directed at brp/Can- I spent way more time than I care to admit removing and replacing that top screw. During that time, I may have even cursed out my wife and children.
Great value and a perfect fit. You won't need to buy any screws once you lift up to drill the entire lock bracket is underneath and it's a perfect fit.
Invest in a half-inch drill bit and use the lock piece, according to the best advice. It's nearly impossible to get the lock out of the case it's in. It was not worth the effort. br>However, once the lock was installed, I was pleased.
