Questions & Answers

For the installation of this extension, do you need to drill any hole(s) into the stock windscreen?

It is not a complete windscreen replacement, as there are four allen screws used to tighten the clamp. In order to protect the existing windscreen, rubber strips will have to be put inside the clamps. I did add a thin metal strip inside the clamp at the spot where the allen screws push against the rubber. Using these screws ensures that the rubber strips or existing windscreen will be protected from damage.

Is there a certain area on the existing windscreen where the bracket needs to be attached? I don't have a screen that extends much above the fairing of my bike. ?

About one inch of space was taken up by the attachment 1" x 3" The existing windscreen on my Kawasaki Versys takes up 3/4 of the windshield.

Is the mounting bracket made of a certain type of material? Is that okay?

You can buy the Mounting Clip made of stainless steel at the Dish Depot. Thanks for your interest in our products. Astra Depot looks forward to doing business with you.

What is the radius of this rotation? The top of my wind screen is taller than my head, and I ride a Goldwing. It is best for me to have wind diverted onto my helmet on hot days. ?

When it hits the top of your windshield, the defector will turn almost horizontally. You will need to take into account the top of your windshield to gauge how far you will pass.

I love it
5/5

If your windows are too high (like mine), you should get a new windshield. The fact that I have returned it does not change my assessment of the product. I did not have a problem with the unit because I could not get it to work for me. Because of the unusual height of my afterburners, I concluded it would not work You should put the market windshield on. I have given the system an extended evaluation run and have noticed the following The pros include 1
There's a lot of craftsmanship going into making this item. From the look of it, the plastic screen is very similar to the material used on my Givi windscreen. Just as my windshield will scratch over time, the windshield on my car will also scratch over time. It appears that the clamp is made from stainless steel since its finish is smooth and it appears to be high-quality. The weight is due to its design, which is meant to stay put at its place of use. There is no doubt that it has been built Almost no brains were involved in assembly. In the absence of instructions, you will probably have trouble assembling and adjusting this. If you can't do it on your own, you probably shouldn't 3
3. 2 During installation, rubber strips were included to prevent screws from making contact with your windscreen. This product is easy to install. A snug fit is what I got by tightening it enough to feel snug. I did not experience any movement during my test ride. It did not 5.
The angle of the deflector was easy to adjust, and I was even able to do it while My next step would be to finish tightening the adjustment mechanism once I had found the position I wanted permanently. As a quick fix, it does the same thing An accessory that allows the wheel of a bicycle to be released. This is 5*. What it is supposed to do works well. I found that it was an easy process to find the position in which it blocked the most amount of air coming toward my helmet by moving the deflector with one hand while riding. There was a significant reduction in wind noise. My point of view is that there are no real cons to this. It was my fault that I returned it. Why? Despite its ability to accomplish what it's designed for (and does so well), it has a large visual footprint that makes it difficult to make the clamp any smaller. It depends on (1) your windshield and (2) your height whether or not this becomes a problem. This extension would work perfectly on any bike with a low windscreen, and it would be well out of your line of vision. I had to clamp the windscreen directly to my eye because my windscreen was much higher than normal. Yes, I was able to see around it safely, but since I typically ride for the pleasure of looking at stuff, this made my enjoyment of riding much less enjoyable. Before you buy this deflector, please sit on your bike and picture how the clamp is going to be positioned when it is installed. (Generally, it will If it would be in your face, The line of sight is usually below your line of sight, which it would be for most bikers as well, so I would not recommend it highly enough.

This is a very In addition, the bracket has a very nice graphite finish

Despite not reading any instructions, the lens has excellent clarity and was so simple to install that even a beginner could do it. The lens can be removed in several seconds without tools, and the mount can still be attached to your windscreen. As part of the bracket, the mounting bracket was wrapped in bubble wrap, and the lense was covered in plastic wrap on both sides. My recommendation for this windshield extension is strong.

In terms of the price point, this is a great option
3/5

My $20 part came from a local store. I used 2 pieces of leather on each side of the windshield. Thus, the windshield was more securely mounted as well as the mounting machine screws did not dig into or damage the glass. It fit fine. I just used a few washers and a lock nut to secure the screen because the friction lock is ineffective. CHECK and FIX the screen using two machine screws instead of locking them with locktite. A reaction occurs between the locktite and the plexiglass, and it cracks along the Anyway, even though I had to replace the screen myself (my fault), and replace old hardware that wasn't working, it is still a good piece of equipment. I am glad I spent some $20ish on it. The turbulence around my helmet is no longer present after I got it adjusted, so the effort was well worth it.

An attachment of this kind isn't good at all for a permanent one
3/5

An attachment of this kind isn't good at all for a permanent one. As a result of the 2 angles of the shield and its imperfect clarity, it becomes fairly difficult to see through. The glass is 90% clear, but scratches easily with the wind, bugs, and road particles that it is subjected to. clamp is also fairly large and placed right in front of the eye. My original plan was to add this gadget to my windshield for a discount, but instead I will invest in a taller windshield.

This additional protection from wind and noise is a useful addition to my BMW's windshields, and I am very happy with the way it deflects wind over my helmet and substantially reduces wind noise
5/5

My only complaint is that assembly is difficult and there are no instructions.

The system works, but it is In my experience, it is functional and appears to push the wind over the top of the There is some weight to it It is problematic on idling in traffic at a red light because the windshield shakes
3/5

There is nothing like a Harley when it comes to shaking out BMW. There is no cheap feeling here There is a solid feeling to the metal. As soon as I hit a bump, my windshield flexes more than I expected. Can we expect that sooner or later the windshield will be affected / broken? So I'm a little concerned about that when I do get up to highway speeds because of the This trip will be longer. As of now, the only roads are back roads, which can go up to 50 mph. In any case, it does work, but it looks a little crappy (well, I knew that already. ) It is heavy, too, and makes me a little nervous.

It does exactly what it says it will! This product does what it says it will
4/5

I would like to redirect the airflow over the top of my helmet, so that I can reduce There's still about an inch of airspace between this and the windscreen, so there's still a little flow of air. A thin piece of hard plastic was added between the rubber grips and the screws in order to avoid the screws pushing through the rubber - the mounting is easy and the tightening is simple. That's what I think I cut out of a This kit was installed on a Kawa Z900 equipped with an It might be different for someone taller than I am, since I am 5'4". I received my order quickly and it was worth the money.

This is quite fiddly, but it is well worth the price
4/5

I don't know how to proceed. The assembly and mounting took a few minutes, and I had to refer to the listing pictures for instructions. After I figured it out and mounted it, I found that it is a nice item for one fifth of the price of a similar Givi product. I am glad that I made this purchase and had the patience to wait for long shipping time.
