There is no manual, no illustration of where those parts go, and the left foot peg continues to go down as shown in my video.
This seat is primarily used by my daughter. br>She can ride for a couple of hours, covering about 90 to 100 miles before she needs to walk. Even from the pilot's seat, that's about all I can take. It doesn't appear to be as comfortable as she claims. In any case, we have a great time riding all over.
The seat was easy to install on our 2018 Rebel300. br>Finding the instructional pdf on the internet was a bit of a challenge, but once we did, it was fairly simple and quick to install. It's a little uncomfortable to ride as a passenger, and I often find myself sliding forward so that I'm wedged between the front of the passenger seat and the back of the actual seat, but otherwise it's fantastic!.
Considering there are no instructions, it's a relatively simple installation. I'm not sure how badly I would have broken the little pin on the right side peg if I hadn't found an installation video online before bolting it on.
The spring and ball were extremely difficult to keep in place while connected to the peg holder because they didn't fit correctly. Also, the 1mm wide roll stud was too thick, so I had to flatten it out with needle nose pliers. I kept dropping it and having to look for it all over my garage floor. I was fortunate in that the garage was clean and that I was able to locate it.
When I first ordered the knockoff passenger seat kit, half of the parts were missing, and the seat did not fit. This kit comes directly from Honda and is easy to put together. I had to deduct one star due to a minor chip that needed to be repaired, but other than that, this kit was excellent and relatively simple to install.
On the 2019 Rebel 500, it fits perfectly and looks fantastic. The seat was nicely and securely fastened. Reading other reviews had led me to believe that the pegs would be bad. It's a little tricky to get the peg, plate, spring, and steel ball all lined up to fit into the bracket. You'll need to squish it down a little and then slide the configuration in. Make sure the plate and bracket, as well as the cotter pin bolt, are greased. Now all I need is a passenger to give me a comfort rating.
