I used a couple of small bolts to attach this to the foot of my kickstand to make it a permanent part of the kickstand, as I had done with another bike; it's always there so you don't have to fumble for it when stopping on soft ground, it doesn't interfere with the kickstand's operation, and it never gets left behind.

I plan to attach a lanyard to it because getting back on the bike and then picking it up without one could be challenging. As others have pointed out, parking and then getting it 'in place' can take some practice unless you have a rider who can get off first and place it under the kick stand.
As bada** as a kickstand pad can get, to be sure. I like that it isn't a bright color or something that is immediately noticeable. I recently purchased a Honda ctx700n, and on the first day of ownership, the kickstand ripped a hole in the asphalt, tipping my bike over. I bought it the same day and have had no problems with it so far. It accomplishes the task at hand. My only concern is the puck's durability. It has already been scratched a lot and some of the scratches are very deep into the plastic after only about 2 weeks of use. But, hey, it was only about $10, so it's not a big deal if I need another puck in a year or two.
I needed a good kick stand plate that was made in the United States after losing more than I care to remember. I like that there's a hole for a rope; it means I'm less likely to ride away without it. I only had this one for about three months before I converted my Road Glide to a trike.
